Why buy it? I never understand the point They always just look like games where you stand around doing random moves and not much point. I guess most here agree, seeing as how they've made zero SB topics on here.

I wish they would have a great single player mode in this one. That way at least I'd know I'd get something out of it if I don't like multiplayer. I hate to pass the game up, with all the hype it has, but I just don't understand the point or why it's fun. Only one I tried was the gamecube one and it was just a single screen and doing boring moves. I think maybe if it were whole courses like Mario kart has where you have to go find people and attack it would be fun, but being on one screen or platform would be boring.

well, tell me whyyyyy because it got a 9.8 on ign and I want to want it. I tried SSB:Melee only once and never cared to try it again, so I don't know what makes it great and I obviously want to get a 9.8 game and enjoy it.

I haven't played this new smash brothers since I don't have the wii u but from the past smash brother games I played in the past what made it so good was multiplayer. The story is ok (at best) but had a lot of great memories(when I was away for college) playing this.

Would I recommend buying a wii u just for this game? No unless your a die hard party gamer cause that's what smash brothers is. If you play alone however it can get old real fast.

I'll hold out my judgement as to getting the wii u whenever this Zelda game comes out

will be a long time before Zelda is out. About this time next year, assuming they don't push it back like they usually do. Yeah, I play alone most of the time. I still could get this and just invite people over more. lol

There's another thread where someone pointed out lack of innovation in fighters. Smash Brothers is certainly a different take on fighters. I just picked it up yesterday (I never had any of the previous SSB's), and for now I'm withholding my opinion other than to say my initial reaction has mostly been, "What the f@$# is going on here?"

That's kind of how I felt the ONE time I tried a previous SSB game. Me and my cousin tried it and it just seemed like we were standing there with the screen moving while we stood still and doing boring moves that didn't seem to do much. That's why I don't understand what I am missing out of it.

You pick your favorite character, and then try to damage your opponents over 100%, or make them fall off something. It's as simple as that!

On the one I played it just didn't seem fun. I can see how that "could" be fun, if implemented well. I actually think graphics on this one could make it more appealing. This is one type where I think bigger, more detailed characters may actually help, whereas usually graphics aren't that important. But who knows. I told some people I may want it for Christmas, so maybe someone will buy it for me or I may buy it around then if nobody does.

I saw someone on ign (commenter) made a moclup where the stage was at the end of a castle in the original super Mario bros. and trying to keep from falling into the lava while fighting. That sounds like one I would actually think is fun, but that's a mockup one. lol

On this Monday, I was playing the game called Prey, for the first time at a friend's house. I couldn't do much, and it seemed like it was the type of game where you start off with just a crowbar, as a weapon, and everyone was telling me you need to do this and that, before opening a door. I just ran out of patients, and stopped playing. I didn't really fault the game though. I just don't have the patients at a friend's house, that I would at home, especially when nobody explains anything at first. My point is if you try out a game on your own, at home, you may start to like it, after spending the time you need on it!
