i wish our deer season opened on a saturdy, but it opens on a monday every year, and that really sucks, because a lot of working people, cannot get off work that day, and must wait till the next saturday before hunting. and the deer are wild as hell, after being hunted for a week.

All is well in Georgia hunt camp, we got 9...8 pt or better bucks over the Thanksgiving weekend...only 12 members in the club, and all were not here, the rut is full throttle

does anyone here try to make head shots on deer ? destroys less meat, i dont worry about the antlers, cant eat the antlers.

Switched to Barns and only lost an ounce or two with a lung shot the other day, they are solid brass and cut through instead of exploding like the lead ones do.

does anyone here try to make head shots on deer ? destroys less meat, i dont worry about the antlers, cant eat the antlers.
i mostly shoot them in the head or neck if they are not running not so much to save meat i just like them to fall where i shoot them . I have shoot a few with a 17 hmr in the neck and they fall like a rock and i have shoot many in the chest area with 30 06 and never found them
