I used to but just can't do it anymore. Try elk hunting with a bow sometime. I was out bugeling for elk and had a 6 point bull come in.He was ready to fight,I had to stay squashed to keep from getting my a** kicked. I did get a shot after a while but missed and he hauled a** back in to the brush.Overall I taken 5 deer and two elk with a bow.I wish I could still do it.

I like to bow hunt but since I can only use a crossbow I really don't consider crossbow hunting in the same category as regular bow hunting (compound or recurve or some prefer to call it long bow, please correct me if I am incorrec). In my opinion crossbow hunting is really to easy in my opinion, at least it is for me. Once a person gets it sighted in like you want it, all you have to do is point, aim, pull the trigger and then go get the 4 wheeler or whatever you have to haul it out with. Of course you have to do your scouting before hand unless you know the place you are hunting for years (I grew up on where I hunt deer) I don't want to rub anyone the wrong way but I would love to use a compound bow and I did have one in my younger years but now I have MS and am unable to use one. So I give compound bow, recurve (long bow) hunters my upmost respect, wish I could be like you and use a real bow!

My hat is off to you young lady. They are hard to get even with a crossbow, you still have to do your homework to get them close enough and judge the distance correctly. Not sure but think the recurve is the fiberglass bow that is bent backwards when strung and the longbow is pulled the was it is bent before you string it. I have shot all but only killed with a compound. Did get some gators with a crossbow, but quit using it due to broke line causing lost wounded gators and shooting them to small because of the distance advantage over a hand held harpoon (hard to tell size at night from any distance). Good Luck and Safe Hunting

They want to operate on my cup from my bike wreck, but isn't Georgia legal with the crossbow during bow season?

Crossbows are not as accurate as a compound bow. Those little short arrows do not stabilize as easily so they don't fly as straight. I use one because I cant pull my bow back anymore, (pain in the left shoulder, back and neck.) I have killed several deer with my crossbow, and I will continue to use it because I enjoy bow hunting more than rifle hunting or primitive rifle hunting. Fewer people in the woods to contend with.

Got a crossbow and a compound bow. Had elbow and shoulder issues a few years back so now solely on the crossbow. Love bow hunting because it's a longer season. Also most people that bow hunt have hunted a while and aren't going to be stupid in the woods. Gun season here is dangerous on public land. Thank God I hunt on my own land. Anyways bow hunting is the way to go.

Never been hunting with a bow. Guess it would depend on whether we had an argument or made love the night before.
