I love going in old abandoned houses, I've found lots of neat old things in them that I use for decor. I just drive around on old backroads and you'll usually find a few, I have an old abandoned house across the road...no indoor plumbing, found a old wood ladder that went into a loft bedroom...now its a quilt rack for me, found a old slopjar that I put in my bathroom...an old cast iron skillet.
Never know what you might find.....

Don't forget, although they may be abandoned, someone actually does own those properties. Being there without permission is trespassing. & removing items is stealing.
Hmmm... there's a cabin in the woods. Doesn't look like anyones been around there tooo recently. Might as well go on in. Well, nobody is using this lamp, & it would be perfect for my dining room...

That's true, I guess it wouldn't be a good idea. It is trespassing unless you track down the owners and get permission. Also the structure might not be sound.
I like exploring family attics and basements that haven't been disturbed in a while. I like researching old items to find out its history.

George, you're assuming I Didn't have permission & they were well past someone leaving a lamp. These places were gutted...no windows or doors left on the houses

Used to do it all the time in Pennsylvania. They're tougher to find here in Florida.

I hope you all also like balogna sandwiches cause if you get caught you will be eating a few along with a carton of milk. This is theft and trespassing. Also there may be many hidden dangers such as traps, rats asbestos and led paint. Feces and urine are highly contagious and contaminates can no way be safely removed. I would rather go to flea markets and antique shops. Rummage sale hold lots of treasures.
