Just wanted to share something that impressed me and helped push me to make fitness a permanent way of life in my mid 40s.
I knew two guys, lifelong buddies who both died at age 85.
One had a fitness routine, regular at the gym, ate very healthy.
The other was typical, no exercise, eat whatever, average really.
Yet both died the same year, both at age 85.
Now understanding genetics plays a significant role there was still something very different about their lives that I noticed.
The guy with no fitness routine was obviously out of shape but he spent the last 15 or 20 years of his life sitting around the house managing health issue, unable to golf, hunt and fish with his buddy as they had done together for years.
The guy who lived the fitness lifestyle played a round of golf the day before he died. And a few days before that he was out on his boat fishing. The previous hunting season he was out walking the fields pheasant hunting. In fact he was healthy right up to the day he passed away.
Fitness is not just about living longer, it's about quality of life, how we will spend the last 3rd or so of our lives.
I prefer to be out golfing the day before I pass, not sitting at home managing health problems unable to get out and do what I want.
I'm headed to the gym
Good health.....you have to make it happen.

I just checked my fit bit for the week. It shows a little over 5 miles for the daily average.
Fitness or activity matters
Do you want to enjoy golf, going to the lake, sex, working out and breaking a sweat?
Take care of the machine or it will conk out early.

I feel better, look better, and have more energy than I have in quite a while since I started going to the gym and eating better.
