congrats to the Royals, a very deserving world series champion. Their bullpen was awesome, they know how to manufacture runs. Their ability to simply make contact with the baseball and their baserunning bravado puts constant pressure on their opponents. And their mental approach to the game, grinding out a win game after game, is something to envy!

I was rooting for the Mets, loved the young pitchers, but their hitting was streaky at best. And they certainly made errors in key moments. While the Royals almost always made a spectacular play in the exact moment they needed it.

Sure do hate it when the season is over......4 months till spring training. Hot stove is all we have to keep us going. It will have to do.

You pick a goat and it goes to collins...it's the 9th show some balls and put your closer in the top of inning...really players are the goats but you had to win this game to still be in it...

KC beat the Mets in every facet of the game...also they pick each other after errors too..

Familia had been TERRIBLE lately, so I was glad he wasn't brought in.

sorp, to be fair, I don't think Hank said, even during the season, that the Mets were going to be in the World Series.

Now, will they return to the World Series next season? Like the Royals did? At this point, even with that young solid pitching staff, I would say no.

Reverend, Evidently you were not paying close attention to my baseball thread all season long which is fine since I know you have more things to do than read baseball threads.

Late in the regular season Hank not only said that the Mets would be in the World Series, he also said they would win it! That had nothing to do with why he became the only person I have ever blocked. I blocked him because of the insults he spewed to others and because of the language he used with many words that are not found in our Holy Bible.

I guess now since sorpstar played baseball at the college level he knows better than me when I say how hilarious it is Baker is the new nationals manager. There's a reason he's been fired at so many places. For one thing he's known for misusing his pitching staffs. He will probably be better than what they had, but he's not a top tier one.

Thank you for posting the most beautiful uniform in all of baseball with the birds on the bat and I was fortunate enough to wear that uniform once upon a time even though it didn't say St. Louis on it even though Triple AAA Memphis wasn't too bad.

I'm not going to knock Kaminsky even though he never made it out of Single A with my redbirds before he was traded to Cleveland for two reasons. First, because you knew his dad, and second, because he still has a lot of potential to get to the big leagues. It's just that the redbird minor league system has a lot of good arms and Kaminsky wasn't coming along as quickly as they thought he would.

Wasn't Volquwz with Cincinnati a few years ago? I remember he and Cueto were together before KC. I remember someone from the Reds announcers mentioning this.

the Cardinals have lost Lance Lynn for next year due to Tommy John surgery.
Also John Lester is a free agent. Who will they go after in the off season?

On MLB network, they were talking about the need to follow in the footsteps of both the NFL and soon NHL by adding a bye week. MLB could easily do this by playing 154 games
like they used to. This has been done in several leagues worldwide with positive results!

Silly, I think all professional sports seasons last way too long but like most everything else in life it's all about money.

A bye week in baseball? I'll have to think about that for awhile.

There is a bye week in a way..the all star game ...just extend week thru Sunday.,.the owners need those extra 8 games to help pay salaries and defray expenses besides the lux tax teams like Dodgers and yanks may pay to teams that get that money..the all stars really lose two games and traveling time...but those the breaks if you're good...

I keep forgetting to get mlb.tv. I need to pay attention for a deal on it. Why they have that so cheap when they charge big bucks for packages through directv or cable companies beats me. I can just use mlb.tv on my roku and watch it on the tv, so would be dumb to not do that. I haven't got a MLB package in probably 10 years, but I should next eyar to get an extra edge on fantasy teams that tommy is scared he'd lose to me in.
