My disability made me look like I was dying and I felt like it to for ten years I laid in bed just trying to stay alive, sex wasn't high on my priority list. I am now healed and resuming a normal life and Just dating again but now I am ten years older and thanking God that I survived, sex really is not the first thing on my mind just happy I can date I just hope everyone understands and maybe since no sexual tension things will go smoother and I will accually find my real partner one that we can build a life togather.

No it hasn't interfered with my sex life. From January 2004 - November 2013 I didn't have sex because I wasn't looking for a relationship. Since April 4, 2014 I have been with one guy who means everything to me. He is 8 years older then me and we have it as much as we can. I have made love to him more then with anyone in my past.

It doesn't on me I've had two open heart surgeries one I was 3and the other 21 and I also had my colon removed at 31and if depression count I got that too

Hello, I have arthritic hips and a bad back but it doesn't slow me down in the bedroom other then the Meds I'm on won't let me finish and I have a hard time getting in certain positions. If it wasn't for my ex then I wouldn't be getting it at all, cause everybody on here wants to meet somebody and when they send you a message they run away and get skittish. Yes my disability does effect my sex life, I had prostate surgery 3 years ago and still suffering from some symtoms of disfunction from the surgery after all this time. its a miracle that I still can perform to a certain degree, and have a lasting friendship with my friends, one friendship is @16 years, the other is@ 11 years and counting. But being a diabetic and having heart problems don't help much at all, its the friendships that keep me going for this long. Im a people person but this doesn't really help me here it slows me down here in citrus county. I try to stay positive and do what I have to survive and enjoy what I have left in life.

Seriously, no.
Am I very selective and very careful that who I chose to have sex with wants/cares about me and will not complicate my life with making having sex an issue; you bet. Always have and always will. Disability or even age doesn't change that so sex is not and issue with a loving and considerate partner. I sure don't need the emotional or physical complications of a poor choice but that more is about being a person than my disability.
I do think the older I get the more important the intimacy and affection have become because the lust doesn't seem all that now that "eye candy" has kind of lost it's appeal. I am more turned on by a good sense of humor, grey hair, and retired than a six pack of abs or someone sweating out being laid off or relocated.
Are the "mechanics" of sex more difficult? Nope. Fortunately the significant parts still work just fine. If they didn't I would do what was reasonable to adapt. Fortunately women have resolved most issues with out all the hoop-a-la the little blue pill seems to get.

Wow don't know where you hang out but seems like you are "trying too hard". That or meeting some real "mean" low life women. Maybe your style needs some fine tuning because if you are getting that kind of hard core shut down maybe it is the hard core attitude and negative self labeling. I live in your neighborhood and I see disabled people of both genders doing what appears to be dating. There are certainly plenty of opportunities and locations.

update, I still have some problems with my sexlife. Ive tried to stop the leaking or dribbles, its working somewhat, I still do my exercises kagels every day it seems to help me. but where I live in citrus county it seems that no one wants to hear about your problems, I try to stay positive, and keep on looking for the real kind of woman that I would like to date with and make a new life for myself. if I find this person I will let every one on here know where I found her. thank you im 65 and in a low income complex here in citrus county with not much to do here. im a type 2 diabetic, and I have mild heart condition it slows me down but not to much

first dont be crule my spelling sucks gramer to. i had sex once when i was 29 the night i turned 30 but because i had a over groun forskin at the time i felt nothing and because i used to watch lots of porn it took 7 hours just to get turned on she tot me a lot that night like never watch porn again and use my own thoughts to help get me off thx to my doctor 3 years ago i got cut and spent 3 months in hell waiting for my member to not be so tender and sensative and sens then i have wantted to try sex again but women dont like datting a disabilied guy i think its cause they one feel they would need to take care of me and two find that a guy on ssi with no real job can bring anything to the table sad part for me is im high fungtioning so i seam to most non-disabilied people like im normal to them even tho im not and that makes it hard to hold a real conversation with anyone over the age of 16 or 17 you see that is were my brain is at even tho im 36 going on 37.

Thanks for sharing all that. Wanted to mention yes it does play a big part in normal sexual relationships with disabilities. This is not the place to work those things out and one cannot base his or her relationship to another. Everyone has their own understanding and if personal needs are not being met maybe that just isn't the one for you.
