Anyone care to define "older?" Is it 10 years, 20 years, perhaps 30 years? Each one of those differentials may be due to very different reasons. A 20 year old dating a 30 year old may have very different goals than a 30 year old dating a 60 year old.
And if you change the ages a bit, a 45 year old dating a 60 year old can be a very natural partnership, one formed by two mature adults finding what they desire.
To each their own. I only judge people when I am paid to do so.

I wouldn't date a guy in his 50-60s
But maybe 30s-40s
When I was 18 I dated a guy who was 27.
And not for money but just because I got along with him way better than I do with guys my age at the time.

Interesting responses on what is older. To me 10 years is nothing. When I was around 45-46, I was dating a gal that was 28. Didnt work out as the cultural difference was just too great. Had some nice relationships with ladies 5-10 years younger than me. These days, probably looking at someone 50 and up.
One of the things to consider is how much of a common background you have with someone. When I was 45 dating someone say 28, she had 10 years of life as an adult, and I had 27 years of life as an adult. Too big a gap to have a lot of common background. At 63 and dating someone 48, she has 30 years as an adult and I have 45, so we have quite a few historical references, for example, that we are both familiar with.
When someone has no clue what you are talking about, since they hadnt been born when some historical event you remember clearly occurred, there can be a communication problem.
Then try and listen to music together. Laughing as I say that. When a lot of your music memories were made by people who are now deceased, it can be hard to get on the same page with someone who never heard of them in the first place. Little thing, but something to think about.

Maybe we date older men because our father wasn't in the picture. They are looking for that father-figured and that love they missed as a kid. They want to feel safe and protected. I'm not gonna lie I date older guys because my dad wasn't in the picture. I want that extra love. I don't know its just hard to explain.

I've had just a few in their 20's pursue me that were legit and what the op stated was their reasoning....but I detoured these thoughts nicely with them, because there is no real realistic future in it.
So why deceive anyone, just to get with that much younger?
