I have been working for a dealer for about a year and love it. Things I like is having to walk a few feet to get parts instead of ordering or going to the store. Also the information of the vehicles is easy to get to.

Politics. If you are good at politics you can succeed at a stealership. You don't have to be a talented wrench.

You will soon tire of it and HATE it. Especially if you are paid under a flat rape basis. Trust me, I know. I spent over 20 years in dealerships before finding a real job / career.
We had a saying in the dealerships. And it is just as true as it was 10 years ago. Same circus, different clowns. Along with the owners / managers. The bad ones stay, and the good ones leave.

As long as you suck cork, you can be happy, not wealthy, at the stealership.

Free inspections, extended work hours, Saturday shifts, how many other reasons do guys need to leave a dealer shop?
Any Saturday I work now, is all overtime. A word not in any dealer shop vocabulary I ever worked at.

I liked it when I sat on my a** for 8 hours doing nothing, flat rape, and they booked me solid from 5-8 pm on a Thursday evening crawling under dash boards looking for rattles.
