Yesterday I saw a post wherein Zane referenced the site and it raised my curiosity.
It's just your average melange of death reports along with a picture of the deceased and a small write up about the person.
Reading the subject matter, along with the pic of said dead individual staring at you from your computer screen, hangs a feeling of ________<---(insert your own emotion here) upon you.
Then I read this story:
A 66 yr old woman died this past Nov. after being bedridden for three yrs due to arthritis.
Her 68 yr old husband and three children (all well into their 40's)lived in the house as "caregivers".
All were recently arrested on Manslaughter charges because they literally let that poor soul rot to death in her bed.
Bedsores consumed her body to the point that she had grown into her bed fused to the sheets, her legs had fused together and, her back rib bones were exposed and maggots living in her body while she was alive.
JUST Manslaughter is the best they could be charged with?
It's not my intention to post this toward any Hot Button issue such as Crime & Punishment nor do I have any real agenda for posting it all.
I've just read that story a few minutes ago and am sitting here with the feeling that reading something like that would leave you with so, maybe I'm just sayin' is all.

Yeah, this thread is a buzzkill and has nothing to do with dating.
To explain a bit why I chose to post it here...ya'll know what my other forum options are so I chose to post it here.
The main reason being the diversity of posters and their personalities.
As I said, not really sure why I posted it at all and knew full well people would throw shit at me for posting it.
That's OK tho- we'll all go for a drink afterward.

That is always weird to go look at their Facebook and see their pictures. Sometimes, there will be pictures of the deceased with their killer. Also messages exchanged back and forth with the deceased. Super-creepy.

Yeah, that is truly one godawful story. So many miscarriages of justice that get no coverage.

Lol, probably not. I have a morbid streak. Probably something to do with depression. We often look out into the world to try to see things that justify how we feel.
Like Ghandi said, "we must be the change in the world we wish to see." I think it was him anyways. That's as far as my spiritual development will take me today. I can't look as often as I used to. That's the good news.

it's amazing what people are capable of doing, I wonder why she was left like that. Was she so evil before, the whole family hated her, or was she the perfect mother, and the family just was not willing to do anything for her, as she did everything for them. I'd love to peer into a globe and be able to see the dynamics of the family before she was bed ridden.

we had a woman here in Houston did that to a child her 5 year old step son and her new baby apparently...the baby was fine...but she locked him in a closet until he died of starvation. She had a previous felony child endangerment charge..but that's seemingly not enough to take the child away these days.
I hope she gets the needle.
there's evil people in this world that's for sure.

I'm a studier and people watcher by nature.
Case Studies and delving into what makes people tick have always been an interest.
Sometimes I run across a story, like that poor woman, and I flash on what it must have been like for her and all the sudden I'm reminded that it's not just a story, it was someone's miserable existence.

Manslaughter is the only thing that fits. They didn't delieberately kill her so it isn't murder, they didn't plan her death... they simply neglected her. She died due to their inattention, not malice. She had to be being fed or she would have died from starvation.
To be honest, this sounds like they simply didn't know how to properly take care of her. It's likely they just didn't know to turn her over every day and exercise her limbs.

Those sites are seriously messed up. I saw a lot of stuff on theync that simply shouldn't be seen. A guy hacking apart a body, a woman with her hand cut off, video recordings of people being killed... that site has the darkest things imaginable. If it weren't illegal to have videos of actual rape, I have a feeling that would be their top resource.
I am able to watch that stuff because to be honest, I have no problem seeing blood and death. But to glorify it the way the people do on that site is simply... disturbing.

See, I don't buy the idea that four fully functioning adults didn't realize that a human being wasn't supposed to be in that condition.
It takes a long time for someone to be in that condition so there's NO way they didn't know what was happening to her.
I think that they were wretched shithooks that didn't take care of her from the start and then once it got so bad, they didn't seek medical help for her because they knew they'd be reported to the police and other agencies.
