The older I get the more I realize that age doesn't bring wisdom. It only brings weary. I am not any smarter than I was 30 years ago. I've just grown too tired to juggle the lies and hide the fears. Self awareness doesn't reveal my indiscretions, exhaustion does.

We spend our 20's and 30's trying to be successful and live the American Dream. The 40's we spend enjoying the fruits of our labor--The 50's bring the realization we have accumulated too much "stuff"--Less is more.
We realize it really is the "little things" that mean the most.

Last GF left my place in a mess, took some things of mine, left some ofm her junk.
Man it takes a long time to clean up when you only have a day maybe two a week, and keep up with yardwoek too.

I've also learned I am who I am and that I will always take the higher road regardless if another deserves it. I have follow my own heart and do what is right. Sometimes I hate myself for not being able to be a jerk.

Love people for who they are, not what you want them to be..
that is where disconnection starts.
You can not change people, they change themselves if and when they
find something lacking they wish to change.. encouragement, patience,
love, connection can help, but they must want to improve or better themselves.

Maybe happiness is this...
not feeling you should be somewhere else,
doing something else,
being someone else.. with someone else...
maybe we all think we want new relationships
when really all we need is friendship, someone to talk to,
to vent to, to laugh with..
I for one, sometimes feel ready to resume trying to build a life
with someone..then stop and think.. really? for how long?
granted we are not promised another day.. but how long do I have to
build anything and is it worth the effort, time, and anxiety,
uncertainty?

Avoid the 50's.. you never reach 60.
Don't we all avoid the hard choices.. overthink the options.
Some people say never regret, how does one do that? So many regrets
I have.. some good some bad... but I know if some of the choices I made
when I was younger created the hardest most painful years.
Choosing from fear, from self doubt, from any place of questionable
reason seldom if ever serves our best interest, most often causing harm to the
very ones you care for most.
