started adding insulation and working on setting the lights in better spots and bringing more dirt in to level the floor more...
takin a break...
eventually almost all of the rear half of this will be insulated and i will have some 80% shade cloth to cover the top with during this time of the year!

Very nice.
This wouldn't last through one winter where I live...or else I would have a couple.
Enjoy!

Our snow comes in feet...yes heavy!
About 200" a season.
I was thinking about collecting old framed windows and starting small.
People want a small fortune for them and end up throwing them out.
Hasn't worked out for me.

I was born in Rochester and still have a ton of family in upstate ny including the fingerlakes region...I remember the snow growing up - snow forts in grammas backyard that we could slide down with our sleds they were so big! My uncle Paul and his school friends all digging into the huge piles and making tunnels and rooms inside the snow mounds...
Now I don't miss any of it after years of living in it in Washington state!
Here I have pictures of snow we got at least twice since I've owned this ground in 2000!
It was melted by noon of the day it came down!

i prefer my dry heat of california for a couple of months and then the nice calm weather of the other 10 months of the year!
i own a coat - but it's like 20 years old and just now getting to the point where i need to look into replacing it!
and i have not owned or used a snow shovel in over 20 years now!!!

On the top is the shade cloth going to be a roll down from the outside? I think a tie in or chained one on the inside would look nice. Its a beautiful project.

I think what I am going to do is buy 80% shade cloth that is the same size as the roof and then use those plastic spring clamps to clamp it nice and stretched over the top on the outside. I still have to be able to open the vents, and that along with clamps should keep it from blowing away. Will only use it during the summer when I don't really need a lot of sun! hahaha
