I even have a power unit for a model T car so I can run old time machinery from the rear car wheels. I think it will be fun to use with my new ford

Model T's are fairly easy on cost as to many other classics.
Specialy the cars from 1917 to 1927 are quite practicle for a hobby imo.
and value is quite solid not much up's and downs but you do need to watch out and know
the real true market value as their are plenty out their just waiting for your money.

Model T is great, history at its finest.

Much more old school than what I am looking for. I always wanted a 41 Plymouth Business Coupe, since I was a kid and did a model of one. Then recently saw one on Jay Lenos Garage. They are really quite modern in many ways and can cruise on modern free ways at the going speed.

Not badly priced either, but alas most are south in the States and the dollar difference makes them 30 % more to buy here. Kicking my self that I did not look a year ago when the Canuck dollar was higher than the American one.

Nice original one in N Carolina though,,,, hasn`t sold yet,,,am tempted. Bet I could drive it home.

I had a 49 Dodge Coronet with Hydra-matic transmission. All Original barn find. Loved that car. It drove like a dream and turned heads everywhere. Wish I still had it.

I only bought one 1927 Model T Roadster runabout yesterday as it was the only one the owner had a good title for.
May yet buy the Roster pickup if he gets a clear title??

Q ~~ (stupid female, I know)... But if there is no title, or a lost/misplaced title, can't the VIN be run through DMV and if clear apply for a 'lost title' replacement?

My s-o-l recently acquired a 1965 Chevy shorted that he is restoring. He has a clear title on it but the title for the Chevelle has come up "missing".

Should have started a separate thread for this. But yes if a vehicle is in your name, you simply file for a lost tittle. However people are procrastinators, and if you loose that title before you put it in your name, then you have a problem, you then have to find the last person that had it in their name and hope they haven't moved or passed on. Passed that you have to turn to the Courts, or just hire a Professional Title Co.

Even though I bought a good looking 27 t roadster it has sat a long time and is takeing some work to get it in good running shape and parts
It did start right up but also ran lousy Mag's & plug wires, Tires are old, bands needed adjusting, needs headlight bulbs & new wires & generator is just gone.
Water pump needed packing,Will likely put in new king pin's as well.
Should be ready to use soon

Bought a 1925 Ford TT truck yesterday Would think it to be a 1926 by the foot peddles but the title says 1925 and it numbers match the motor numbers so have a good title for it.
Will wait to bring it home so I don't need to barrow a trailer as my new trailer should be hear pretty soon and this truck can be my 1st haul with my new trailer.

Myself, I fly old airplanes. Usually something is going to go wrong with one of them. Luckily, nothing that can't keep me from flying it back home. A back up redundancy of items can make a world of difference.

So when it comes time for me to deal with an old car, no thank you. My current ride is almost 10 years old, and I am looking to get rid of it soon.

This reminds me of the story of my first airplane ride, Karr.

My family and I had occasion to be visiting at Wright-Patterson when I was 12 years old --- a family acquaintence was a veteran pilot turned aircraft mechanic.

This pilot extraordinaire had been working on a small private aircraft and had to take the plane up for a test run. He offered my mother, sister, and I a ride-along.

Excitedly, my sister and I hopped up and down and begged kur mother to say yes.

Laughingly, (though she was skeptical of flying -- I found out later) we all boarded for our first flight.

Soon we were off the ground and soaring through the skies over the city.

Midway through our flight out pilot reached on his pocket and pulled out a handful of screws, nuts, bolts and washers and said, "I wonder where these were supposed to go?"

Turning an ashy shade of gray my mother replied in a shaky voice, "Back to the ground."

I suppose flying humor has an air about it, huh?

I had a devious and cruel flight instructor. He would shut off the landing lights on me during the final approach at night. Then he would say to me, light bulbs burn out. What are you going to do now? Fly around in circles until you run out of gas and die?

Sick individual. But I certainly did learn a lot from him.)

Thanks for asking joe, Quite a lot really, it did start right up but ran really bad and needed plug wires & magneto work & right now we need to put in new transmission bands.
also Headlight wires need work as well as bulb's. It is running well right now and tired a big hill in high gear when lost the transmission. It also is missing a generator but it doesen't need it, for now anyway. Just waiting for the right day now to do the transmission.
Meanwhile I also bought a 1925 model TT truck and also a new PJ flatdeck trailer that I just picked up yesterday so may go get the TT truck yet today? not sure yet

Cool !

I`ve been looking for something newer than yours, and am having a real hard time finding one.

I want a Fargo or mercury Pick up. They were sold up here in Canada , and although the Fargo was basically a Dodge and the Mercury a Ford, I`d kinda like to restore a little bit of Canadian culture that I grew up with.

Its not easy finding one though. Customize r s types grab them up like crazy. And the few I have run across that look some what stock, have had 8`s shoved into them. I am kinda funny, I love the two extremes, sports cars and Pick Ups. And I have never understood why so many want a Truck, to make a sports car out of.

I just find there is a beauty in a pick up found in its honest simplicity. So to me, rodding one is akin to allowing an abstract artist draw circles on a Norman Rockwell painting.

Anyway, a 1925 Ford TT truck , is real old school and beautiful 1 Would love to see some photo`s of her.

You would love where I live. I am on the flight path for the Hamilton Int. Airport where we have the Canadian War Plane heritage Museum near Ancaster. I see a lot of old war birds fly over my place, and usually pop in there Sunday mornings to see them getting ready to fly.

My fav, is the Lancaster called Vera. I never got to fly in her, that costs about 5 grand now . Since she flew to the UK to help celebrate the Battle of Britain, she is well known so the price went up.

But last summer got flights in a North American Harvard, and a Boeing Stearman bi plane.

Going to splurge next season, and get a flight in the B-25 Mitchell . Cannot wait!

As a teenager I loged 85 hours as a student & solo pilot. Had the opertunity for aforedable flying lessons and cheap rent on a Cessna 150 & 172 And flew till that all went away $9 hour for plane & instucter $4 hour for just the 150 solo
Could not pass on that opertunity
