I can't imagine the supermarket being a good place to meet other singles, especially at my age. I would imagine most women my age group there to be married. I know I heard of people having success there.

Have you ever been successful at getting dates at a supermarket, mall, etc.?

believe it or not there's some single mommies that look like pretty darn good that roam the aisles of a supermarket. and some that don't have kids that are unmarried and very single

Any place is a good place to meet people if you learn to be friendly while going about your day.
Friendly and polite are not the same thing.

You have got to be kidding about people meeting in a supermarket, right???

I seldom see single women in the market where I shop, and if I do they are rushing trying to get what ever they are buying so they can make it to work on time.

As for meeting a woman at the mall, forget it. Most have their eyes glued to their phones, or have earbuds in. That is a sign they do not want to be bothered by random men.

In all honesty, I doubt I could meet a woman even at a party.

I meet more men at the grocery and beach than anywhere. One man accuses me of stalking him
I have a few that are on friendly terms now, one gives me hugs. I go there several times a week, neighborhood store. I never take them seriously. Maybe I should!

There's people you get to know without the dating process but simply through life's natural course. You come to know who they are before any type of relationship interest begins. That is what I'm talking about, cougar. I no longer want to start dating people I don't already know.

Was that really not clear for you or are you trolling me?

I have never approached anyone in a supermarket but I have been approached many times in stores. I always think they are going to ask me if I know what isle something is on & then I get, are you single? I instantly turn 10 shades of red. It's not really where I want to be approached for a date but that's just me.

Why wouldn't it be a good place. You don't want someone who eats? That seems really odd to me that you would think that.

Have you never watched an animal show? Where do animals gather? At food or water- where is the best place for a "predator" to hang out?

Same principle with a supermarket/library/gym....the list goes on. (Of course I am not suggesting you cull a weak one from the herd in the parking lot and clamp your jaws onto her neck until she succumbed )

I "meet people" everywhere I go. I make it a point to talk to people that look interesting or are attractive. I especially talk to the unattractive; because they might need a little human contact.

So sure any store is as good as any place else to meet someone.

You do have an accurate statement about "women your age being married".

You could amend that this way though. The "marriageable" women your age are.

Be patient they are likely in their first and may be available at some point.

Well, there is this attractive blonde checking out groceries down at Safeway.

I bought some Alaskan crab legs and a couple of lobster tails, and while she checked me out, she said, "Yummy- What time is dinner ready?

I said, "Whatever time you get off- I'll have them ready"

And she did say, "9:00"

Attitude and personality! You can meet other singles anywhere! and it's not always their fault they are single.

When I still had the interest? At the grocery store, doctor's office, pizza shop, gas station, single people are everywhere.

I like to hang out in the frozen food section.

I occasionally notice women in the grocery store. But as someone said earlier, I don't dress to impress, exactly, when I go. And I pretty much get in and out.

The key is to not look mad, or like you're in a big hurry, when you shop.

Whenever you're out in public, stay off your cell phone, too, if you want to be approached.

I was given a man's number yesterday at the car wash of all places. He's way too young for me but I did enjoy the conversation. It started over the headlines on the newspaper I was reading.

No I have never had luck meeting someone at the supermarket. But I live in an area with lots of senior citizens so it's possible that I could meet a nice widower. They always put the things I want on the top shelf where I can't reach them. So maybe I will ask a nice man who is taller than I am (everybody) to help me and start a conversation. Well, I can dream, can't I?

There is no magic place to meet but everywhere is a possible place it all depends on social skills, introduction, mutual interest and then date. It can happen anywhere but its necessary to be comfortable with rejection! If you can feel comfortable then its all just fun and a chance to be kind generous and patient and occasionally meet someone who feels the same but not always and that is the difficult part. I prefer public places to internet due to the amount of hidden obesity, deception and fear of actually meeting found on the internet whereas in public the feedback is active immediate and personal. So the internet always comes in second for meeting as many people are approachable and ready to converse if one has great social skills and is comfortable with self introductions. The assertive person who is polite and kind will prevail... Yes i have been able to meet people everywhere literally in airports, restaurants, laundry, parks, stores, wherever an attractive person appears and i feel comfortable then proceed... its not rocket science jsut managing emotions of potential rejection and knowing what to say whatever happens and i find it novel and fun regardless of outcome...

I have no desire to date from the grocery store.

The only time I say anything to anyone at the grocery store, is when an 80-90 year old woman needs help reaching something from a high shelf.
