There are many books that purport to be "revelations' of some divine order, spirituality, or cosmic connection with the divine. It is a fallacy that those books that religions hold up as Revelations can be a shared and experienced. The only valid revelation is the one that is experienced for the self. The ones in the books belong to someone else. The true experience of religion comes in personal revelation. You can't borrow someone Else's even if it comes from a best seller.

That's an internal process that we use the words for inside ourselves. That gift isn't inherent in the book, it's a gift from within where divinity truly resides. Revelation is the discovery of that divinity and words can be stepping stones on that path. In the east, living Holy men are revered as sources of inspiration and guidance. The words they speak are matched in effect by the aura of their presence. Living examples of human beings who have experienced the divine within and can share it through both discourse (words) and also through the radiation of being in their presence. Eye to eye contact with someone who has spent decades in meditation is electrifying. These are living books. Spirituality is the gift of the living to the living. written words of past Holy men can create the seed of longing in a seeker, but they will not create a discipleship.

Words have the versatility to become vessels for intention, and as a connective element. All of their power is directly derived from the conscious connection of the user.
