I'm going to ask this again because I'm really interested (and I'm working at the office, too, and can't dig into it as much as I'd like).
as far as I understand it here according to CPS you are allowed to spank a child as long as there is no bruising, in several of the schools around here they have even brought back spanking due to unruly children

Ok, scenario, your new love interest is left "in charge" of the kids while you go and do (banking, nails, hair, bills, etc.). Your oldest gets it in his/her brain that NOONE but mommy or daddy can punish me so I'll just go into hellion mode and do what I want. The child plays with fire, runs with scissors, opens the door repeatedly, runs in and out, into the street, cars dodging your kid, kid basically doing everything the parent has told him/her not to do because parent isn't looking and all this time the one in charge is having to try to protect and look after the other(s). No amount of begging, pleading, threatening will suffice. Can't reach you on the phone. What then? Call the police? Spank them? ? I mean, does one observe your request not to spank and at the same time take that request literal to such a degree that your kid is now roadkill?
I know that sounds a bit tacky but I have actually SEEN this scenario play out with my brother's kids. That poor girl was pulling her hair out. My brother's son was off the hinges when I got there (she called me because my brother was at work, his ex was God knows where and my nephew was out of control). I did the same thing my brother would have done. I got him by his hand (he was 4) and took him to his room. I sat him down and told him that dad was not going to be happy with him if he didn't settle down and be nice. He then showed out at me. It was then that I pulled him across my knee and gave him 3 solid pops to his bottom with the palm of my hand and told him to stop or that would happen again. Instant angel. I have only had to discipline him once since then. He is 13 now and because he KNOWS I will, I don't have too. Never touch a child mad. EVER.
When my brother did eventually arrive from work, I didn't wait for my nephew or his girl to tell him what happened, I was there and told him I spanked his kid. I told him why. My brother went straight in the house and lit him up a second time for causing all that problem.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is don't get so caught up in "Nobody's touching my child" that you put a caregiver in such a position that you've actually endangered your child.

There is one other option. If you prefer your child not be spanked, and you don't want to be called out in the middle of your job to deal with it, you should furnish a straight jacket and bite shield to the caregiver entrusted to care for your child that day.

um sorry dear i didn't say that my kids dont have discipline. i said that no other person besides their father or myself will be spanking them.

Spare the rod, spoil the child. I spanked mine any damn time and place I chose. When they took it out of the school system that's when it all went straight to hell! Check out the stats now and then. They took prayer out, same thing. You want the school system and society to teach your kids, babysit and not discipline. Well, sorry to say when the heathens get grown someone will discipline them alright. And you wonder why the jails are so full? My daughter had the same idea UNTIL she had one, she now believes in spanking.
Well by spanking your children, you've definitely proved that you're bigger and stronger than your child. You certainly got THAT message across.

I'm not going to take a pro- or anti- spanking stance.......
But I would point out that every position of authority is "bigger and stronger" than the one whose behavior is to be modified.
Prison, police, bosses, professors......everyone holding postions of authority are that way........physically, or legally, or in terms of one's best interest.
I'd say you were making a stronger point FOR spanking as a way to prepare children for the real world.
