Down here in Klamath Falls, Or Up since it is about 3500 feet higher than the rest of you, we get out and do things , even at 20 below zero, luckily it hasnt been that cold yet but close. We go skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiliing, and just for a drive to remind ourselves how lucky we are to live in an area with only 2 distinct seasons, --hot and dry to cold and snowy!!!!

Otherwise we hunker down with a good female companion when we have one and have some fun at home.

I moved here from Idaho, and it is kind of like Gumby describes. Either snowy (very snowy in Idaho!) or hot and dry. Things to do in the snow include shoveling it (not fun, but it's good exercise!), make a snowman, snowboarding, sledding, snowshoeing, drink cocoa and watch a movie, call and catch up with friends, write e-mails, and the list goes on. Just do whatever strikes you fancy.

Good to hear from you, Gumbi! While I think the transit system in Portland is incredible, I think the enormity of the storm took people by surprise and it was impossible to keep up with everything. The streets in the suburbs remain impossible without chains. My car has not left my driveway since December 12 --- but with my limited experience in driving on snow, it was mostly as a courtesy to other drivers that I not venture forth.

Did my best to find someone to hunker down with, but my best efforts failed me. I will keep looking .................

Want to come over and shovel my driveway? The only time I admit to being over 60 is when the jobs involve heavy lifting or are jobs that get me wet or dirty. My yellow lab also needs walking. If you followed the previous threads around here, you know that my dog is the perfect dait bate.
