but coming into the SD Chat area is depressing and boring as all heck. Don't y'all have anything at all to talk about other than how 'lonely' you are? Don't any of you have lives? Don't any of you get a stray thought here and there, a sort of "wonder why that is" kinda thing?

I know I most times get caught up in the other forums to the point of forgetting this one is here. Then when I do come check it out............its so dang depressing............
Seriously folks, get a grip!
I mean really, do you (generally speaking here) want to attract positive, uplifting, fun personalities? Or would you prefer somebody to sit around with you while you try to out gripe each other?
I know which I would pick.

I've been told the people who get bored are the ones who are boring. OK don't take that the wrong way -- Just a stray thought. "Wonder why" someone would complain about something being boring without contributing to improving the situation. Noticed the "you" reference. Guess you are not from SD as indicated?

Thing is I spend most my time on the other boards.
And..............when something in here is worth posting to I do post to it..........
Some wonder why the SD Chat is so 'dead' - so I gave MY opinion as to why and why I don't participate here much. Nobody said you had to read or respond to MY opinion.

I do not come here much either.... Maybe because most of South Dakota is busy working!!!! Since I do not have a part time job yet, I spend a lot of time on this site but that will change soon....I hope!

So, did that feel less dead? Did you feel a spark of something?
I was not really questioning where you were from, just found it interesting that you separated yourself from others in SD by using the word "you." I knew you were just using this site to do your own thing. How does it feel when it is turned around on you? Not good I am sure. I think we can make SD Chat more interesting. How do you want to start?
I am OK with planning a get together of people in SD Chat. How much beer is needed?

I do hope so, for all of us. 2009 for me is going to be a continuation of 2008 in so many ways. Looking to recoup, regroup and forge ahead.
A meet and greet could be interesting, though I am not much of a drinker, especially around strangers.
I differentiated myself btw because I hadn't been in the habit of coming into SD Chat, especially as I just moved here in Oct. So, not having been living here, I certainly hadn't been one to worry about what was posted or not. Once I did see it, not having been the one participating in it, why would I claim it.
As for a spark - ha - not quite...................no tables turned here.

Like peppermint better than beer myself.
I plan to go back to school next year if I can swing the financing. Then, I will have to pinch pennies quite a bit for a few years again. However, I have been thinking about a "So-Glad-I-Did-Not-Get-Married" party to replace the wedding reception I did not have several years ago, and it seems like singles would be the ideal guests.

That does sound like a fun party...........
School - I have the deepest respect for anybody that is doing it. I've been going since July 2007 - got one degree so far and the next coming August 2009. Then I think I need a break.........it is tiring.
