All of a sudden I find myself traveling to Ecuador in February with my women's group (WOW-Women on Wine). We are celebrating a 60th birthday and going along to live her dream like the adventurers we can be. I can't really believe it's happening yet.
So, anyone have advice on Ecuador? We'll be a couple of days in Quito and the rest near Loja in the Valley of Longevity in the southern part of the coutry in the Andes. I'd love to know any adventures or information you have!
Yippee!

Actually no input for Ecuador, but I'm excited for you! Have fun! I am headed to Panama in Feb., however, I use to live there, so have friends to visit and carnival! Will you be in Ecuador for carnival? That's alot of fun...I'd have to check if they do anything there. Do you know?

Hi! Thanks for posting, I'm seeing that Ecuador is not a hot spot, which actually suits me just fine. I've never been to South America, but have traveled in central america and Mexico some.
We will be there for carnival, just at the end. I read that they throw water ballons and some such, and that the party begins-a last hurrah before lent. Sounds like fun, but could be a bit interesting if they get really rowdy. Most of our time will be spent in the Andes hiking and lounging at a resortish place near Loja in Vilcabamba.

It's exciting to see that you are returning to your roots in Panama! I may get to go through that canal on a boat yet!
Again, thanks for posting, and enjoy your journey as well.

hey Hanna
equador sounds like it would be a good break from this
hobo lifestyle i find myself in
the desert overlooking Elpaso
i can just see Rosa's canteena
but there are 5 mounted cowboys off to my right
and now a puff from thier rifles
so Colina might have to wait...
watch out for the highwaymen
