That sounds like a great idea chilly. I hope he has good insurance through work.
Maggie, if your feeling better this weekend maybe we can go see him. Might help with recovery. Knowing he has so many friends wishing him well.
I'm shootin for the weekend. I know he'll be better and so should I. The Zpack should kick in fairly fast. I wouldn't want to make anything worse for him. Maybe we can hit the hospital on saturday. I'll drop you a line Saturday morning if you'll be around!

My good friend had a triple by-pass. He was in the hospital for 1 month, at home for 2.
And they gave him all kinds of pills, including Lacix(?). Blood tests every month.
ProTime every month.

My stepdad had a double bypass done and was in for about three weeks. Your right about slow recovery. Rich is going to have to change alot in his life after this. Just hope it all works out for the good.

I am getting worried even though we know what has happen to him why are they inducing a coma its not like he was in a car wreck where they don't want them to move or they know they could not stand the pain. I did not realize this would be so painful maybe?

Oh guess that to me is the same same. He is not responsive so if they have him that sedated then sounds like an induced coma of sorts.

A heavily sedated coma is a way of slowing down the bodies function for purposes of healing. With the tripple bipass, there is a greater chance of blood loss, and infection... Also pain...
This way they can keep him from emobilizing himself and doing damage, or raising blood pressure, do to the excitement of waking up. It's a healing process used alot for those who have more dangerous type of surgeries that the norm...... I was in one after having my car wreck.

I just called the hospital and Rich is still in the ICU. Only the family can give me the visiting hours. Not sure if I should try to talk to family about visiting. I'm a little suprised he is still in ICU.

Hi I am not suprised, from everything I have seen posted he had a very bad time and maybe after surgery some problems..I know what can happen when someone has a heart attact like this, as a nurse and a family member who went through it with my late mother, my late brother in law also, prayers for him and his family.

I just got back from the hospital. I was able to see Rich. He has been in ICU for 19 days. Still has the breathing and feeding tube. The heart looks good but has had a fever since he went in. They are not sure what is causing it. They did a CT of the lungs today(no result yet). He did respond to my voice. I am going to go back up on Sunday after I get back from our party.
I met his mother, father, daughter and neice. They are all very nice.
I also gave a get well card from all his friends from here.

No problem, I will try to keep a regular update. I plan to visit every couple of days. The family was happy to see a response from him when I talked to him. So I figured he'll get tired of hear my voice by the time he ready to go home.
