Me, for the trip? Or did I vote? I voted.  Of course I did, I made the thead. LOL!
I'm a strong believer you don't NEED someone with you to make the trip a good one. Sometimes "to get away from it all" means getting away from the people in your life also. Not in a negative sense, but just to recharge your batteries. Plus vacations on with yourself mean you don't really have to answer to anyone or worry about whether they're enjoying themselves or not. LOL! Although, vacations with someone else is also good, of course I wouldn't negate such a possibility.

It wouldn't have to be a beach or island retreat but just a little out of the way resort would be wonderful! I love to vacation in spots that are not yet 'discovered'!

I completely agree with you...the more remote or "undiscovered" the better. I love finding the locals and where they like to go and things they like to see. As much as I love seeing the historical sites of the world (as well as most of those others on the list) I hate having ALL the tourists around me. I want it all to myself.  But not because I'm selfish (not really - LOL!) but primarily because I love my photography and prefer moments without so many peeps in the way.

Hey! I should be able to pick more then one, I need to get away often! LOL
Number one choice is the beach, but I take a lot of road trips. Road trips are cheaper, and do not take as much pryer planning. Love to travel to historical sites too!

A cruise is the absolutely best vacation in my opinion. I have been on many and would go at the drop of a hat (or anchor) again. It doesn't really matter where the ship is going, the whole cruise experience is so very relaxing and they spoil you so much it's hard to get back into the groove when you return home.

A Cruise is my number one VACATION...
I go on the Cruise as a solo......
I have been on many.
My next Cruise is Sept-10th..
My B-day Cruise......
I also do short road trips.
Day trips or weekend trips.

Oh by far the beaches of Costa Rica. The beauty alone is worth the trip, but the restaurants, the people, the night life, and even the monkeys! When I was there we'd hike through the forests and find the base of the waterfall and take a dip in it. Amazing! Waking each morning with sunny skies, the ocean breeze, and the sound of the waves crashing upon the rocks and sand. well man thats heaven. the states suck... lol I wanna go back

Cruise to Alaska or Antarctica! 
I really would like to drive all the way to Alaska, but I was told that most likely I would end up wrecking my car on those roads through the Yukon. Also not recommended to drive alone on that lonely highway. And I found out that hopping on ferries from Vancouver with my car all the way to Anchorage, can be very very expensive.
If anyone has done this, I would appreciate hearing about the experience. Thanks.

Cruises are always great. I'd like to be able to afford a Mediterranean cruise.
However, this morning I caught the tail end of a show called "Equitrekking" and they talked about various trips you could take which include sight-seeing via horseback. They were in Costa Rica. It all looked and sounded wonderful. I'd love to do that some time. They gave a website, equitrekking.com, I think it was, where you can go to get more info.

I would love to go on a cruise.with a bunch of friends who love being together .... I have traveled
to so many beautiful places... The one thing I always wanted to do was go on a cruise.... ( I will get there Yet )....smile ..I think I would like a cruise to Australia....I would never be able to sleep in one of those little rooms with a port hole.....LOL... I need a beautiful room with a balcony LOL......(I don't want to much do I ) And also A going away Party .Next time I come to this page I will tell you all about my trip (smile) .....Later good people

I would love to take a slooooow ride out west on a harley. just takeing in all the sites and smells.. with a really understanding gal on the back.... life is sooo short. we need to enjoy it all....and see it all..

The gungle of Costa Rica.... Talk about eating organi raw food. I was there for about one month and stayed in a self sustainable farm that used a huge bag of pigg poo to cook food with using the byproduct of pig waste(bio-fule). They also all their own friuts and vegtables. They had piggs, cows, goats, horses, doggs, chickens, monkeys, and anything that could be kept as pets like snakes and insects. Its was the best experience of my life...

My brave Mom packed up her 3 kids (ages 8, 11, & 14) and took us all over the world, via jets, trains, and sometimes rickety old airplanes. Yep, VERY BRAVE, Mom!! But we never went by boat. Don't get me wrong, I loved every second of our vacations! And my adventurous Mother is why I love traveling every chance I get! I'd love to experience going on a cruise!!! Love you Mom!!!! P.S. I was the 8 year old.

Been on many cruise, loved them all, But I enjoy seeing the world. New places not just the Historical ones. The inter cities, the small shops, and the food. Been to Ukraine and down town freedom square Moscow. Or cherry blossom in Japan, Not into rice all that mush. I enjoyed the walking. Love to see the pyramids in Egypt.

I love road trips; unfortunately, I only can enjoy them on weekends. Historical sites? Yes...but nothing compares to getting off the hway in the middle of rural NY, CT, NJ or PA and to mingle with everyday people...getting in all antique places you can find, spend the night in a bread & breakfast, a nudist resort or a local small hotel....and next morning drive back home using a different route.

I was a city driver for trucking companies for 30+ years, noise, dealing with people every day, traffic. My idea of a vacation was to flee the cities, a 500 mile drive to Ontario Canada and a cabin on the Georgian bay for a week or two. Beautiful scenery, clear waters, wild life, and I didn`t even have to get in my car to go to the store, I could go by boat.
Just my idea of relaxing.

None of the above. I'd want to rough it in the wilderness. I'd definitely avoid tourist places and cities... and doubt I'd *ever* go on a cruise. I love road trips, historical sites, cities and snow, but not to "get away from it all". Those things are more for plunging headlong into it all.

I just recently read about this island that i never heard of before i think it is an island off of Mexico, i think it was near Cancun. That is where I would like to reside forever.
