 For me I feel that a nice dinner and maybe a movie too. I feel that I'm old fashion so I would like some idea's from other to get better knowledge what dating live is like this day then was back in late 90 and early 2000.

I would say, take her out to ride go carts or to a near by amusement park. how cool would that be.skip the dinner, bye the girl a hotdog. If the day goes well, take her to a near by lake to see the stars reflecting off the water. Just be creative, not boring. good luck.

You're in Spokane, Washington. Try a wine tour. Take her to a concert at the Gorge. Take her to Seattle. Take her to whatever kind of shoreside(beach or cliffs) yall have out there. Well I don't know how far away all this is Sorry! You can always cook an intimate dinner for the two of you. Or ask her what she likes to do and go from there.

I always like to go to an Applebees type of place. That way if she doesn't show up, I can drink a few cold ones & I'm no longer concerned about what's her name. But if she does come in, we have a few drinks, we can talk, & if things are going well, we have something to eat.
This is for someone I haven't met yet, other than online. The movie thing doesn't allow for much conversation, & dinner at a really nice place can get expensive.

Movies are tough because there isn't really a good opportunity to talk
unless you like to hear the other theater goers doing the shhhhh thing to you.
I'm not really into the dinner thing either because if it's not going well...
the two of you have to "suffer" through that.
Is the weather up there warm enough for a picnic? You each bring separate
items along with a good bottle of Vino. Good luck!

Depending on the vibe that you are getting from the woman.
Easy outs
Pool
Movies
Coffee
Dinner
Park with picnic
More committed (might be forced for the whole afternoon together, also comfort level might be breached if you are picking someone up and taking them far)
Comedy club (distance thing for me as it will spend alot of time in the car together)
Zoo
Amusement Park
Planetarium
Hike through a state park
Boat ride
I think somewhere, that you can get interaction is wonderful. Even better if your both laughing all day (even if the date is bad I am usually on the floor crying from laughing at a comedy club)
If I get a great vibe and there is something that were both in to, I would ask to take her there. If it is a so so and we have been talking as friends, somewhere to give both of us an easy out if things go bad.

It really doesn't matter to me where the place is at. People have likes and dislikes and sometimes their personalities will give ya clues of the types of venues they like.
Bottom line, it really doesn't matter to me except one place - I don't do coffee houses.  too stuffy and it's like an f$$$kin interview session. Date/places are what ya make of them. One can go to a great venue and still have a bad time if the date sucks. As long as both are clicking on all cylinders, it doesn't matter.
Any place I can have fun etc... or even walks in the park is cool. But nooooo coffee houses. Been through the get to know each other stages from several conversations over the phone already lol. My opinion and I approve this message. 
Oh and about the movies on the first date, I have never been turned down for that. Why, because the date doesn't start off with the movies.
But if a woman wants to see a movie first, I haven't objected in the past, and won't in the future. Again, it's not like the movie is the only venue she and I will attend. It's up to the Male to create excitement and spontaneous actions.

The first date should be fun and not too conservative in my opinion. I personally don't like movies because you can't really talk and get to know them.

I walked in to a trap on playing against someone at pool as a first date. I was taken to the cleaners and tapping out at game 4. Had a good laugh at my self, Almost wanted to take her to play rugby the next day lol.
