I work on the slope 8 to 10 weeks at a time and was wondering your take on how to make a relationship work being gone this much?

It honestly just depends on the two people involved. I don't mind someone who works on the slope. Yes it's hard not having them around all the time, however it's a job and that is what comes first. I think for a woman to be ok with a slope worker, she needs to be independant, along with faithful. Too many times have I heard how it hasnt worked out because of the whole schedule thing. It is no different then anyother position that requires one to be out of town. It just requires perhaps a bit different twist on the relationship to keep it active while the guy is away. It just makes the time he is home so much more enjoyable and dont let any of that time go to waste on trival matters. It comes down to ingenuity and trust for the whole relationship to last, not just for her, but for him to trust her while he is away.

There is nothing wrong with the work that you do, as long as when your home you make the best out of it with the person you are with.

Good luck in your search.

That's bad...lol

I know a few people who work on the slope. I personally never been in a relationship with one. But spent time away from my husband while in the military. I can see how it would be difficult to maintain a relationship. But I also know that even though you may not have contact everyday...there are other avenues to that can be used to keep the relationship (how do I say) heated!

I say be creative. When you get home...take care of business!

Best wishes!

They do lots of things. There's oil field workers, electricians, dock workers, and all sorts of other jobs, as well as all the support personnel like cooking and cleaning staff. People go there for extended periods of time to work. Basically it's the whole northern part of Alaska.

It is pretty hard to get a job up here. But once you do its all gravy, as long as you don't mind 12+hours a day 2weeks - 6months a year

My man works on the slope and I really miss him alot, but we keep our relationship hot with fantasy e-mails. Risky pics. Web cam. Phone calls. And never lose one minute together when he's home. I never give him a minute to forget how much I love him and appreciate that he gives up so much time for the family. To give us a better than average life. Tina

Well, I would never date a SLOP worker but one of those 'SLOPE' workers might just be perfect for someone like KweeKhi who likes her daily freedom a while. Wish my X had been a slope worker, could have possibly made it in that relationship if he hadn't been home to trash me so often, lol.

So, attention, Slope workers...email me now, let's fix something up!

I WAS WITH A MAN THAT WORKED UP NORTH. I HAVE TO AGREE THAT YOU MUST TRUST EACH OTHER A LOT. THE EMAILS WERE FUN SO ARE THE PICS! DIRTY TALK AND TOYS! I MISSED HIM BUT LIKE TO HAVE TIME FOR MYSELF AND MY SON. I HAVE TO SAY THAT A 2 WEEKS ON 2 WEEKS OFF IS THE WAY TO GO THOU! WE DID THE 10-12 WEEKS AND HE CAME HOME A LITTLE CRAZY AND THAT ENDED OUR RELATIONSHIP.

I would much rather have a slope worker than someone having to be with me 24/7. I have a career and am very independent. Being apart just makes you appreciate a good partner more!

I think it would depend on the woman. Can she be trusted. Is he being true to her.

I wouldn't mind being involved wih a slope worker. Then when he gets home they can have fun together. Talk about their dreams.

Thank you,
Linda
