I to am "burned out" from internet dating. But I love the forums, lots of good advice and input on peoples past experiences, very helpful. My list is:
1 Wanting to meet right away and asking if I like to kiss, cuddle, hold hands etc (wtf! I don't even know them why ask me that?)......I think they are putting out feelers to see if you are interested in sex (just my thought)
2 Controlling
3 Talking about their exs (girlfriends or wife), be it bad mouthing them or talking about how many they've slept with..........
4 Insecurity (or low self-esteem) see #3
5 Serial daters..........dating me but still "looking" or dating others.......which is funny because once I find out that's their game and cut them loose, they usually try to contact me again for another chance...once I'm gone I'm gone I don't go back.(that's my mantra)
6 Liars.....that don't need any explanation covers a lot of ground about what kind of person they are.
Oh gosh the list could go on and on, I'm not perfect by no means but I believe in the golden rule "treating others as well as you treat yourself" and try to live up to that in my relationships..... to bad a lot of men out there just don't get it. It's all about mutual respect............

^^Yes. I get that almost everyone uses a little profanity here and there, but when every other word is the F-word, it turns me off, scares me away, and makes me view that man as a very unintelligent person who can't use proper vocabulary to form sentences.
The other thing that scares me off...men with children, no matter what age.

I just noticed that this thread has been going on for a year now. WOW!
All the answers are good ones and I agree with all of them. Mostly about their insecurities.
Who has time to help fix that shit?! I know some ladies do. I've been known to stroke an ego or two. Now, I say f**k that. If he's broken, why is he dating and wasting my time? I'm not your ex-girlfriend, your mother, or who ever hurt you before. I don't want to spend my life proving to you that I'm not like them. Besides, who knows maybe he deserved what they did to him!

Went to a backyard BBQ one time and this guy became so attached to me that he was almost sitting in my lap, he had his chair pulled so close to mine and every time I left the room, he followed me..yep even when I went to the bathroom, he was right outside the door...lol He kept asking for my phone number and even had his friend (who he had came with) keep calling my friend trying to get my number.
My friend still teases me about that one!

oh my god! that id my ex husband right there all the way!!! and he would always make me out to be the bad guy, like why do i ask about his friends. I didnt even know his girl/friends, he would keep it on the downlow..ugh!!!!and say i was noisey for asking..wtf?? i was his wife, and i didnt do that to him. crazy!! he would go out and wouldnt tell me when or where he was going and when i would ask or text he'd get mad. And he would say my mom and grandma never asked me where i was going..haha oh brother!!!

On first contact with someone new he calls me an endearment, as if he has known me for ages, is a relative, a close friend etc. Like: Honey, Baby, Sweetie, Darlin', Babe etc --it is disrespectful to me, and should be to most women, because the fight for women's rights was a long, hard fight --- but we won the right to be respected as full-fledged adults who are not inferior, but equal, to men; and this conduct by men who use the terms, and women who permit them, is blatant sex discrimination. Desperation is a real turn-off. I got an e-mail today from some guy who I have never talked to before and he wanted me to call him. I have to admit that it makes me a little nervous. I have this panicky feeling in my gut. I don't think that's because of him though. My husband of 27 years passed away over a year and a half ago and I'm wondering if I'm just not ready for this.

Aggressiveness is another thing. I hate guys that come on strong and want you to call them or IM you before they even take the time to get to know you. I've never been into the whole "Me Tarzan, you Jane" thing.
Shallow Hals. There are enough of them here (along with the Shallow Janes). I know it's human nature to judge someone on how they look, but if you write off someone for that reason only then you could be missing out on getting to know a really great person.

1. He is on the Sex Offenders List.
2. He is rude to others. (waitress, etc.)
3. He makes sexual comments to see how far he can go with you. (No respect to you as a lady.)
4. He makes prejudice remarks and discriminates against others for sex, color, ethnicity, social status, weight, etc.
5. He asks for money or doesn't pay for the date.
6. He refuses to answer your calls, texts, phone calls or e-mails and has an excuse for everything.
7. Your children or pets are terrified of him. **Warning Danger Will Robinson**
8. He makes remarks that are RED FLAGS to you.
9. He makes comments that could be belittling, manipulating, etc.
10. He talks negative and uses foul language so much it's hard to translate what he is saying.
These are a FEW...u ladies are so right, all these things we dont like, which granted they are good reasons, and we are single, so, where are all the real men who dont fit in these negative categories, no one is perfect but these are def dealbreakers to me.

I had an ex once that we had a date at 8...i get home from martial arts and work and he is sitting around the corner in his car waiting for me to come home...and its only like 630ish. Coming on way too strong with virtually the first message having it all planned out on meeting when/where/what your doing etc perhaps some ladies like that but they only knowing me from reading my profile and not even messaging a "How you doing?" type email to know anything more about me to make such presumptions, is a SUPER BIG TURN OFF. That and men that are super needy when all you did was be nice and kind in responding to the email, so excessive emails is a sign a man is insecure and been there done that with too many co-dependent guys not going there again.
