I was outside weeding my garden yesterday evening. The weather was cool because a storm was moving in. You could watch the lightning in the distance. I heard a pack of coyote nearby. I listened to the bugs. Saw the lightning bugs. Didn't have any kids around. It was just very relaxing to weed my garden yesterday evening. I was wondering if anyone else ever feels the same.

I feel the same any time I'm in the garden. Cant speak about the weeds 6 inches of compost and mulch for the past 5 years killed all the weeds.

yes it is better to pull the weeds to work out frustrations and is not bad exercise either.

I love working in the garden. It is very relaxing.
Here in Arizona we have to do it early, it gets to hot later in the day.

I hate weeding. Weeding is the only part of gardening I do not like (with the exception of caining raspberries.)

this is a great topic and i believe if you enjoy gardening,you feel all good doing it knowing that your nutes are going to the right place. victory 1. i live on 10 acres in foothills of calif. and 5 acres is 5ft tall grass! my point is that when i cut grass around house it looks nice with the home. rewarding to look at.i think u can see in my pictures.so yes, i get a rush in all aspects, and stay in your garden, its good 4 all. grow damn it!

Its ok billy. You are good.  I love mowing my grass too and looking at the finished product. Whether it be a weed free vegetable garden, a weed free flower garden, or a well kept yard of any size, I love the beauty of it all.

As a child, I thought the dandilian was a beautiful
flower. As an adult I can admire a field of dandilions
however I prefer not in my grass.

I find it relaxing.
When my mother passed away, the only time I could find peace was when weeding and tending to my garden beds.

my gardening is a stress reliever as much as an enjoyment. when i get upset i go tackle the weeds. i do some small landscaping for a few people and love it.

It is very relaxing and stress relieving. The kids leave me alone and the whole world is tuned out. That's "me" time, better than a bubble bath...I don't freeze this way. I'd rather do this than any housework. Hated it when I was a kid though.

After a frustrating day or one where everything seems to be in total chaos taking time to weed an section of the garden calms me down, but having to out to weed just because there are weeds in the garden not my most favorite thing to do.

I used to find it so. But, I'm older now and allergies and arthritis have hindered my efforts the last two years. I grow a cottage/prairie garden, so it's awful and out of control. I need a garden boy - a cute garden boy - between 40 and 60 ...

Sure is, most days. On the days the neighbor has their yappy dog out, it makes me get the job done much fast pretending the weed I pull is their neck for leaving it out so long.

YES, very much so. I hand weed them and love it. I remember my grandmother getting a milk crate to sit on and moving around pulling grass out of her beds. She use to get me in involved and now everytime I do it I think of her.

yes, weeds no longer spoil my gardens. In my area folks pack grass clippings into large paper bags, and leave on the curb. I mulch gardens weekly with grass, to keep moistened, feed soil, and discourage weeds. morning glories still pop thru, but the process of weeding usually leads to a hidden ripe tomato, pepper or cuke. ha.

Yes I find it very relaxing and rewarding. I just came back from weeding the flower beds at the church I attend. As if there is not enough weeds here where I live with my Aunt on 5 acres.

I like to spend my time drinking a Bud Light while my girlfriend attends to the weeds. It's pretty relaxing for me although time consumning.
Someone has to watch it grow and keep an eye on it.

I love any work in the yard. I dont have a yard anymore, so I really miss it. Ive dug up small tree roots, that were a job, big HUGE rocks from a yard I used to have. Yea, I love it all. Any thing to get me outdoors and doing something. It gives a sense of accomplishment when you work hard and see the results.

Weeding is relaxing as long as I keep the weeds under control and it's cool outside. Nothing is more pleasing than working in your yard and looking at the beautiful results afterwards. Sitting out drinking coffee or reading a book after working in the yard all day is awesome.
