I happen to know Joan Osbourn when she first started, trust me she was no pick of the litter looks wise but she has a great soul. Her looks have improved over the years - thanks to the makeovers. (her blues stuff rocks)
I agree with Bassman, not every knockout gal is going to lite your fire, you might say the thunder comes from down under...
I think women spend more time on themselves because of competition with other women. You don't have to be solid Aces to be attractive to guys. It doesn't matter how good looking your might be - if you don't have any soul - no guy will interested for the long haul.
For the record - I like attractive women but that usually includes more than just winning the gene pool.

I believe it is how women think of themselves. I met this woman from Tahati, not what I would usually go for. My first choice is blonde, fair, slender, somewhat shorter than me, not very big breasts, that's what attracts my attention first. As soon as I enter a room I rank women 'who I'd do first in case the world was about to end in the next 3 minutes' followed by 2nd, 3 rd and not at all. Anyway, this woman was I thought afro american, I generally don't like afro americans because I have so little in common with them. This woman made me smile from the moment I met her. Her life, what she liked, the way she talked, not that YA YA YA UMM Yo HEAR ME, lived in Boston and liked to go out naked in the snow and roll around. WOW.. the way she moved was incredible. I thought she was no more than 20, she was 35. There were women in the room who met my preference, but if she wasn't married, I would have left with her. That was BEAUTY. I have never been in the presence of a more beautiful woman before or since. I should have went to Tahati a long time ago if she is a representive of what the women are like there. It was my thought that ' this is what women should be like'. All women come with the same equipment, it's what they do with it.

I think men often do play too important a role in women considering themselves beautiful, and that is not a strong foundation for our self-esteem. I agree with the confidence=beauty theory. The majority of our own beauty and self-confidence should radiate from within, from balance in all areas of our lives and validating our own accomplishments, goals, talents and dreams. Anyone, man or woman, attracts more people to them when they are confident (not arrogant), warm and positive. I have met men who were confident, thoughtful, and warm, with average looks, and was totally blown away. It's the whole package makes the person attractive or not, and it starts with what's inside.
Oh yes, a woman does have that special "glow" about her when she is in love or has a new romantic interest. There is a glimmer, a twinkle, and aura. It can not be the only thing that makes us feel good and beautiful, though, because when that is gone there is no foundation for your soul, and you are devestated. It's also not fair to expect someone else to "make us happy." Or make us feel beautiful or give us validation. CONFIDENCE in your own identity is key, most definitely. I believe that we should allow that the important role that a special man plays in our lives be to enhance and compliment the confidence and beauty we posess already.

Every guy (or woman I'm sure) has a different look that they consider to be attracted to. But, a truly pretty or beautiful woman is universal. With that said, I am attracted to many different things about woman. Could be her hair, face, neck, breast, butt, legs or the way she carries her self.
My problem is, once I've dated them a while, I sometimes have a hard time finding the attraction that attracted me to them in the first place.
I probably just eliminated any chance of dating anyone on here but that's the truth.

Responding to Joan Osbourne what makes Joan sexy is her passion, the way the music moves her sawy and she just feels it, the way she sings from this place inside that is like punctionuation to the songs core meaning...she carries the delivery of her lingering fading notes that transition to next rising from he belly wrenching vibration that just grabs you. I feel the same way , even stronger about Ann Wilson...dear God dont get me started on the Wilson sisters...these two are my inspirations...when I sing i move with the same passion and my voice seems to be well received. I can nail Joans voice, I have to rough up a bit sound a little more gravely on the soultry side but Ann Wilson is straight up. I can nail her on most songs but lack the incredible power and strength when she belts...I go strong but no where close to her nor as long as she can hold them. Look I am not going to go off the thread from here but I have to share for moment...besides we are speaking of beauty in women and this is...soooooo on with the show....note I just want to share something that is beautiful to me feed back is nice but dont worry I will keep it on track.
Heart preforming Mistral wind, my most treasured Heart song
AGAIN....I see beauty here....thats why I posted the video...they carry their inner beauty onto the stage. I beleive that following what makes us passionate aids in our beauty, puts the spring in ur step the sparkle in our eye and gives us that sexy edge on the inside....I dont think these women know the power they have in this area.
Joan Osbourne....putting her own twist to previously recorded songs...that why I relate...you feel it you just do it
Not the best recordings but if ANYONE knows where I can find more that are NOT youtube contact me...tell me if you see their beauty shining when you post your ideas on the subject at hand...

Have to disagree with you on that one, Joan Osbourne is not a sexy woman. She's a sexual woman in the way she carries herself. But she is by no means sexy.

Most of the physically beautiful women I have dated showed a slight touch of insanity!!! I would much rather have a plain, even-tempered jane with a personality and some consideration for her man!!!

A woman is naturally pretty, or better we like her beauty since the beginning. Still beauty is a very personal matter (or beauty is in the eyes of the beholder as said before)...
I agree that both man and women influence beauty.
In a very well matched couple, one can trigger in the other person beauty and good behaviour and viceversa. This is NOT changing the other person. It's more subtle. It's triggering the change for the better, no planning involved, it just happens naturally (some women... tend to force the change: that is very BAD!!!)
As a matter of fact, I believe it's more likely that a man could turn into a prince because of a woman than the opposite. Usually when we like a lady it's more of an immediate thing. We like her, that's it (yes, men are EASY)
Women on the contrary tend to grow the "I like him factor". It's a very general affirmation, probably full of exceptions.
Still it's more probable a woman that grows love for a man seeing his beauty increasing in time, than the equivalent for a man.
In other words... usually a woman is good since the beginning. Men have to evolve into something acceptable!!!
It's not fair... but it happens!!!

Sellik your so right, it is amazing how women that look damn near perfect come with issue's, not all the same...but more issues than the average bear.
I want to add that for me I am speaking of the everything inside her mind, heart and especially her spirit that makes her a stunning gem. When I went to go sing tonight I was pumped I brought my game and pumped out some Zepplin my friend Scott helped me with some of the vocals where needed to make the Zepplin tunes work....I love Zepplin for me it is the best Sex music ever, well Pink floyd is amazing for fellatio and cunilingus Led Zeppilin takes it home several times. We nailed thse tunes, it was so fun to belt it out with such power. With the Style of Ann wilson's passion i had a whole lotta love for what I was doing later a woman sitting at our table, whom i did not know, leaned over and said pardon me for saying so but you are beautiful. DEAR GOD SHE MADE MY DAY....lol thats was the best...She also is a vocalist and has sang in bands she understood the overal appeal of preformance verses actually bringin it out from your souls core...she saw inside me. She saw my passion. That was cool. So when i am talking about beauty here I amnot referring to hair color and body type ect I am saying the power of what makes her not just female but "Woman".
What is the most powerful beauty trait a woman posesses?

I can answer that one for ya. A confident positive attitude towards life, herself, and being happy. Any woman who walks around with a jovial smile is going to attract attention... No matter her age, weight, hair style, clothing choice, etc. When you have found inner peace its gonna show... And everyone is gonna want some of it from you!
I've been with women from eighteen to fifty and they all had this in common.
