What`s the big damn deal about pictures!!! Ain`t any one here ever gonna go to the effort to find out who I am inside, let alone make any arrangements to meet. It`s clearly plain no one here ever worked DX on a shortwave radio. CQ CQ calling CQ on 40 meters. Anyone out there? Damn I can`t seem to see what you look like!! well shit, I guess I won`t talk to you. Station clear!!!!! There`s a whole bunch of so-called people at this site that needs to get a life!!!!! 40 meters clear and off frequency.

I was just contacted by a shadow...an admittedly married shadow, looking to talk dirty. That is why people want pics I guess. Just because there is a picture doesn't mean it is really that person though. I don't have a problem with talking to someone without a pic...just as long as they are respectful.
Oh yeah I did have a guy on my friends list when I first joined, he had a picture. He also had a wife!!!

More than likely he's married ,in a relationship,

I have found several men don't post there picture because might be a little shy or private.After they talk to u then if you ask for a picture seems like they almost always send u one.

Did you know someone could cut and paste your picture and send it too any x rated site the want, that is just one reason I don't have a picture posted.
The italic thing doesn't seem to work for me, but this was in a previous response. I'm just thinking I could be a porn star and not know it.....bummer.

I know how this can work sometimes. But I prefer to see a human being in the other side, not a black and grey box. I'm shure that also people that don't have photos, looks more to people that have photos in their profiles, no matter if they includes pets, the sea, ex-wives or whatever. Most of the information that we get is trough the eyes, that's why photos and images are also important, maybe not everything, but a big part of. A person can be the same kind of lier, with or without photo, I know that. This is sometimes, and (sorry to compare), but when you're going to buy something, you want to see it first. Well, this is something like that. Is part of the chemistry. I prefer to see a person in my computer screen.

I know quite a few people who do not have the know how or resources to do so. I know I didn't for quite a while myself. Some people are just freaked about going public with their mug period. HOWEVER, due to the fact I am somewhat familiar with the self gratifying nature of the male of the species, I would venture to say a lot of them are trophy hunters. Guts sucked in looking for leg.

After reading all the posts, I would have to say that you nailed it on the head. I was ready to go with thebestman and his response, but yours was the most relevant 'Because they can'. That one guy though, I hope you are going to be okay, but I will except your gray silhouette and be thankful for it.

Isn't great! I  Oh ya, that's right, we are still arguing over pictures, I will try to stay focused here. I would like to think we are all telling the truth here. Some people barely know how to turn computers on. I am not making fun of them either. I couldn't imagine a lot of people I know doing pictures just because of know how. That would be like me harping at someone for not knowing the proper Character Set to use for publishing an XHTML website, after all, that is common knowledge, right?

Since everyone is requested to make a profile in order to see more when they first join and everyone of us are curious to see whats out there.... some like myself join without the pic and when I feel like I am ready for any responders, I can always go back and edit and add a pic when ready for communication. Until then... hey... just window shopping. Even though it was asked about men.. I am speaking as a woman, but the reasons could be the same. Don't need a pic to make a friend. Also the web can be a place to tread lightly and stay safe until other communication takes place where you may want to exchange photos at your regular email account.
Whatever the reason... evidently there is a reason and each one should be able to express themselves in whatever way they see fit. Chill...all you others who have no problem plastering your mugs right up there with shirts off, chainsaws in hand, on horse back, whatever... some of that would be better in a shadow. LOL
