Isn't the point that this IS a dating site? We aren't interested in purchasing your real estate, and "most" of those online aren't concerned with what you own, what you make, or what you have in the way of material wealth...but trust is important in the early stages of any relationship...no matter whether it's a "friend" or prospective date.

Ah last that was mean...not all women are after money. I think the Professor is a handsome man. I don't worry about folks who haven't got a photo..I talk to anyone and don't need to know what they look like. It is not necissarily true they have something to hide...I've talked to married men on this site that had a picture...I only know because the wife emailed me. From personal experience some did talk to me until I showed my lovely face, a bit fuller than they were hoping for. I wasn't trying to hide but didn't want rejection either as no one does. I'm over that now. lol At least the friends I do have, know what I look like and accept me and I love them for that. People have different reasons for not posting a photo...I wouldn't really worry about it unless someone contacted me and wanted more than friendship to blossom. Not that I am shallow and would reject anyone, but is only fair in that instance. jmo

Professor - there's not a THING wrong with you - your photo is great! Jeez we don't care about your gd cars!!!!!!!!!
Prof - you have a location and age that's gonna be tought for ladies but here's a suggestion for you - if you aren't getting "hits" on you - go read in the ladies thread - meet some nice ones there - they'll chew your cheeks.
Also - look at the ladies in your age criteria's profiles - send them a nice email saying "you look lovely in red" "cute dog" "how's your weather today in Omaha?"
don't send a wink - send a word!!!! And read her profile - in truth don't just skim it -

I disagree that you are hiding if you don't have a picture up. It's true that some of them are hiding something. But not all of them. Heck, I know of at least one woman on this site that has a bunch of pictures and there is no way of knowing which one is hers. I think a lot of people either don't have a picture that they want to put up or they don't know how. I also believe that many people would rather not have a picture up because they atract the wrong kind of people.
I have been on a lot of dating sites. It took me 3 months to post a picture on the first site I was on. I didn't get many women writing, but a good majority of the women that did write seemed to be of a higher caliber and quality than the majority of the women that wrote after I put my picture up. Some of those women I still write to today....18 months later.
I think the people that have to see a picture before they write are just insecure. I have written to many women that didn't have a picture and they have all sent one within a few days of writing. And in most cases I have been very impressed. I am sure that is the case with a lot of the men that don't post a picture as well.

I have a picture posted on another site and was getting lots of email,and after awhile it slowed down. I made the mistake of updateing pictures and took some of myself in my house with the mountains in the back ground,and now I am getting hundreds of email. I am the same guy I was in the first set of pictures, so are they looking at me or my house.

 I have nothing to hide and am not married. In my line of work, there is no way I can post a picture online without some very serious repercussions. Every time this comes up, it's like beating a dead horse. Some of us just CANNOT post pictures for every whackjob in the world to see.
