Hi, Sommri, I welcomed you earlier, but I think my computer crashed just in time

Thanks for the warm welcome, still just feeling my way & trying to navigate around the site, looks like it just may become a 'pastime' for me also! Even if I do find Mr.Right,Wrong or otherwise, this seems like a great place to meet some wonderful folks! Can't wait to get to know you all better & maybe someday meet in person...Id like that!! singlemom. Happy to see you on here! No, this is not everyone from the west but it seems for some reason most seem to shy away from the chat section of this site.  Going thr' a SEARCH of the area, there are lots of Albertans. Sure wish they would join in on Alberta Chat. Their chances of meeting that special someone would increase, and in the end, isn't that what we're all looking for?

Hi, tedybear, surely not me, although I enjoyed it - didn't have to go out today! Love those big mesmerizing flakes!
What was more awesome was how fast it started melting! 23 cm, and apparently a new record for spring storm.

I didn't order the snow, either, but I sure loved it!  Everything looked so fresh with the white cover all over. Now just have to keep remembering that when it turns from white to mushy brown & grey.

They say the snow was just right over Calgary. Those of us who didn't have to be out in it, could really enjoy it. I even saw snowmen, which is something the snow here isn't usually good for.

Thankyou 2bluiz! I will be here once inawhile/do my best. My daughter and her husband have a baby now...and I am busy with a my son that will graduate next year. He is into sports, works, ect. But soon leaving the nest. And therefore...I need to downsize my place this spring/summer. So going to be busy. But, very nice to meet you people, and looking forward to talking to you when I have time. Hmmmm No single men in the late 40's,50ish in my area,,,,they must be hiding...I see lots from Calgary. I used to live in Carstairs, as a teenager, and Innisfail (one Year) I really like it down that way! I miss it. People are nice.

I like Innisfail & Carstairs too. It's funny that I like those 2 communities the best of ones in that area that I ended up in Olds at one time. 
I think too many men are hiding from us. Too afraid of good women, I guess.

sweeetone, I haven't been up that way since the boom started. I k doubt Carstairs has grown much more, or at least as quickly. I've lived as far north as Olds & as far south as High River. The High River/Longview area stole my heart.

Hi, Sweet, I love your area - Edson, Hinton - so much forest - love it!
It must be quite a change coming from small town Sask to dog eat dog big city Calgary.
Did you come for work, or? Well, we can be your friends, and hopefully you will meet
one or some 'out there' as well. I am sometimes saddened when it is hard to meet
people in a city of a million! Seems so crazy - but I don't have the solution.

I was on here yesterday, trying to post, but having trouble with my computer, didn't seem to want to accept my post.
So you like it in my area, all the trees...Yes it is nice. I was raised as a child down in your area, and kind of miss that though. I guess it is what I was used too. This is quite a bit different. Hinton, and that Area gets prettier with the mountains.

Hello all & WELCOME to Happyhorsegirl. With a penname like that, its my guess you love horses, too. Do you have any? Unfortunately, I had to sell my equine friend 10 years ago when I moved into the city. Still miss that ole girl.
And to Glenn, I've been in AB since 1982. Since I can't answer for Rose, we'll let her fill you in on that. (Right, Rose? )
It sure is nice to see more people checking into Alberta Chat. Rose & I are hoping to plan another get-together soon & that we'll get to see even more than the last gathering. So keep your eyes open for news on that.

So, Glenn, I notice on your profile you state that you are shy until you get to know people.
I'm the same, and sometimes I feel like I should add a qualifier: "and then all hell breaks loose!!"
You must have started trucking (11 years) right after you got your license!!
I have lived in Calgary 49 years, except for 3 months in Jasper and 1 year in Edmonton.
I really liked Edmonton, and cried all the way back to Calgary.
If I had any money, I would buy a small farm or large acreage in Saskatchewan, probably S.W.

rose, 49 years thats a long time in one city. you have seen a lot of changes here. i thought i would never leave sask. edmonton is nice but i dont think as warm in the winter.
i started driving when i was 18 and farmed on the side along with 2 of my brothers. or tried to any ways. ya i think its nice in the s.w but windy

that would be nice rose. ya i still drive moveing office shacks all over the city and the odd trip to fort mac. i also specialize in moveing mobile homes since im the only one in are company that will do it. that takes me all over the province some times over night. i dont care for it that much gotn used to home life. that was the long heres the short it changes day to day (some times every 5 minites). where ever they need a shack i go. you have been learning about me what do you do and enjoy
