In da hood don't you mean? I grew up in P.G. County. I was a great place growing up, and actually my old neighborhood is still very nice. Although, most areas have deteriorated to illegal's and thugs. Such a shame...

Prince George's county is the Maryland jungle sometimes. It is a rough area all around, although it isn't all thugs and slums and thats kinda far from the problems in PG. Has anyone been to or has seen the Laurel Mall lately??? It is like a shipwrecked shell of a mall now. I was there in November and seeign everything boarded up just sent chills up my spine. It used to be a very busy place. Also, Laurel the city itself even though it is getting a major facelift, still has a thug and drug problem and isn't really the greatest place ot raise your kids right now. In my oppinion at least. I feel PG is the most neglected and underfunded county in Maryland and there is too much vacant property there and not enough opportunities.
And I'm actually from Howard County.

I completely agree with you man! it definetely is a rough area..and Ive been to laurel mall recently..only 2 stores are open really lol  ....I just dont see any opprotunities coming until they rebuild the mall which is more than likely on hold because they dont have enough funds to do so.its sad really

if they lose that mall and the shopping center next to it with that giant (most of the sotres left from there too and the movie theater that used to be there) Laurel may end up a ghost town. totally different from a decade ago

I grew up on the 4000 block of Kennedy street in Hyattsville. I loved my house when I was growing up... it used to be peaceful, now its run down and it seems like something is always happening like home invasions and robberies.... although I live howard county now, I still have no shame being from PG County.

Like everywhere else in the world, PG has it's good spots and it's bad spots. It's no worse or better than anywhere else. It is what you make of it. I'm in College Park after living in Silver Spring for years. College Park is really growing and changing. This also happens everywhere in the world. I will tell the ladies that the best thing going for PG is "I am in it"
