I suppose the story isn't unique. I was like any other jaded female-- completely dejected after putting everything into a relationship that crumbled before my eyes. And like other heart broken people, I withdrew for a while. But everything changed when I discovered DH.
I came upon DH by accident. In fact, I didn't intend to get too involved on the site; I was simply here to check it out and write a review. But it didn't take long before I started meeting interesting people and having fun conversations. It was a slow first step, which was perfect for me. I started getting involved a little bit on the forums, though I've always done more reading than posting.
I hadn't been on DH very long when C-- came out of nowhere. We talked casually at first, but very quickly we began building on these lengthy, intellectual conversations that stretched for days. Sometimes we talked about nothing at all, and still we never ran out of things to say. Finally, a man who could keep up with me! *laughs*
After chatting on DH for a month or so, we began moving our conversations beyond DH messages with the intention of meeting a month later. That month was probably the longest and anxious month of my life. But it was worth the wait.
Our first date set a record for me-- 27 hours of dining out, movies, the mall, the bar, meeting his mom, etc. We had a great time getting to know each, and in case we had any doubts. The 'first kiss' sealed the deal. I think I was his from that moment on. <3
So... C-- and I have become huge fans of DH... and each other <3 Right, boo?

Unlike the previous post I have to say that my love story is very unique. What makes this story so special is "the girl". I came on DH with the intentions of meeting new people. Being a single father of two and having moved to a new area; I didn't know anyone. Taking care of two kids sure didn't give me too many chances to go out and DH seemed like a logical choice to make friends...
Screening through many pictures and profiles I came across one profile that did grab my attention. This woman had "ALOT" to say, I really liked the fact that she had the ability to form such an intelligent profile. Taking a chance I tried to engage her in some "intellectual" conversation... LOL Well, it worked. Hours and hours; days and days we messeged each other. Seeming to never run out of things to say; WOW I really had to meet this woman... So taking another chance we exchanged numbers and began to text(alot)and talk on the phone(she would keep me on for hours, j/k hunny). After a long month of waiting, finally we would get to meet.
The day began around 12pm; D-met my children and then the two of us embarked on what turned out to be the longest and most perfect date I was ever on. Lasting in the area of 27 hours, we ate; walked around "the mall"; saw a movie; the bar... D- met my mom. The most amazing day I have ever spent with someone. AND the first kiss...GRRRRR!!! I fell in love with her the moment our lips touched.
Before I conclude this extremely long rant, I have to say this; D- you are the most amazing woman I have ever met. You're smart, funny, caring, hard working, thoughtful, and hands down the most beautiful woman I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I hope you are just as happy as you have made me. Before us, I had little hope and now I have the chance to plan my forever with you... I love you.

So many people spend their entire life looking for the right person... When I met D- I was speechless... I am in love with her and I know time doesn't matter because the heart feels what it feels. Do I need to go on about soul mates?... And I understand my DAD is 50 and he doesnt believe in soul mates either...AND he takes no chances so Im sure he will never find love again, So I see your dilemma... But its ok I'm sure you can find love, "IT's" out there for you too and good luck in your journey... D- and I give you our best wishes...

It's funny you should say that... Problem is not all guys look for a woman to look after their kids. I take care of my children and don't need a mother or baby sitter for them. It's really ashame that when women hear a story of a man that has his kids, it is so hard to react in a positive way... GOD forbid that a father has full custody of his kids and OMG he looks for the first woman he can find to take care of them... Whatever... Im a good father and I dont need help... But thank you for the wickedly negetive comment... obviously you recently got burned by a man or have taken a male bashing course... Either way you don't know me so "GO SCRATCH" your itchy area... this account is a farse, we both deleted dh about a yr ago. Thanks to dh and the 2 yrs i spent trolling forums and flaming people on them, i finally noticed this picture of a member online on the banner atop my screen. Her eyes engulfed my attention, deeper blue than tampa bay's clearwater beach. Nearly a year later, we've moved from florida to michigan together to finish college together without the drowning drama of our disfunctional friends and families. Ever so grateful i am for seeing her on the banner atop my screen a year ago, i still find myself feeling closer and closer to her every day. We actually had a very rough start, both jobless and outcast by our families for tattoos and our personalities. Going through such a hardship has only made us that much closer, that much more emotionally entwined. We truly complete each other and make life feel worth living for each other and ourselves as individuals. Thank you dh for being there when you weren't expected to rescue us from endless soul searching and hassle of meeting new people with busy lives. That guy in love, -happy anonymous person.
