Can't find any Vermonters to talk to. Yes, I have been in Vermont all my life, too. I wouldn't trade the winters for anything in the world. Walked home in blizzards, went for a walk during the ice storm and loved it. Sure beats the tornadoes, earthquakes and high humidity.

It's so bad here that DH left up the thread from the guy looking for a "lady of the night" lol No one responded or even cared. If it wasn't snowing here, I would expect a tumbleweed to roll by.

I hope my mom is ready for them all, lol. I'm trying hard to move out of college town but all the affordable listings on Craigslist are scams. Anything $850 and below seem to have landlords going to the Philippines in an emergency, lol.

just_zoe1958 Burlington, VT 58, joined Dec. 2011	I grew up near the Burlington Airport and the jets and planes never bothered me. It was just part of life. But to see a large, low flying plane would surely make me a bit nervous! Some people just like to complain. They complained about the Airshow over the water front. I went to it and loved it! Was glad I brought ear protectors, lol. No one complained about the National Guard helicopters flying every half hour, in and out of Burlington, to bring assistance to the stranded after hurricane Irene. If they did, I'd kick their butts. We all expect them to be there when we need them. Well, they have to practice. Soldiers, from other areas need a place to land. People need to accept that.

Not that those features (LTR & in-depth conversation) can't be found here, but that at first glance, it can seem like a lot of fluff & nonsense (which isn't a bad thing, just not what everyone is into). Digging out old threads where earnest conversations took place can seem sorta' dispiriting-one might think, "what's the use, the top/popular threads are (for the most part) crude/lewd overtures that don't appeal to me-no one's gonna' post in this thread". Merely my speculations...and this is my 1st post here.

All the other states tend to have a lot more friendly chatter. I was the original poster and not a lot has changed. The groups like Relationships or general discussions, on here, have formed a clique and are very rude and nasty to new comers or newbees as they call them. The group in my age range have married people looking for flings, men who make promises to women while sleeping with another, etc. A lot of crap I don't want to deal with. If you want someone local, your best bet is to use the search. I have had more luck on another dating site, when it came to finding fellow Vermonters. I wish you the best in your search.
