As an Army retiree, I'm not sure I should post here.
But as a member of the Patriot Guard - www.patriotguard.org - I have to let you know we exist.
It's the best, and one of the fastest growing (just hit 120,000 members) Troop Support organizations in the US/Canada/Europe.
No dues, no newsletter, no meetings, and no raffles. Everything is done by eMail or by checking the web site. If you do go to the web site, pay particular attention to the part that says, "You don't have to have a motorcycle."
And if you read the letters from the troops and/or families, have a box of tissues handy.

Hello Linda and Jan, It took me awhile to get back here sorry, but so much to say and it won't come out sometimes.I begin everyday thinking about my son and end it the same way except with crying when I go to bed.I know I should be strong,I try but it's so hard.People tell me to think positive and I try that to,nothing is helping.I torture myself by listening to his favorite songs everyday.I pray all the time for him.I worry everyday thinking if I'm ever going to see him again,I know that's bad, can't help that either.I have sent him letters and pkgs. The only time I feel good is when he calls it's so unexpected. My mind wonders every morning, afternoon and night. The pain is so bad I can actually feel it in my heart.Well I should go now before the tears come. Thanks to both of you for being there for me.I wish the both of you the best of luck. And yes I will be back. Thanks again. Laurie-USMC-MOM.

Hi Laurie!!
Honey that's OK, don't you think you ever have to say you're sorry for your feelings. Not to me anyway!! Believe me, I know. There's some days I just want to SHUT the world out, out, out.
Hang in there, girl! How long before your son can come home? Just try to think of that and put that torture behind you. The DEVIL,SATAN devil WILL COME to torture you, IF you let him, ya know? The bible says to consider only the things for the day, that tomarrow will take care of itself. Try and do that, and look up that scripture. Meditate on it day and night and when the devil
comes to put doubts in your mind tell him to "get thee behind me Satan, for it is
written:" then read/memorize that scripture and say it to him. OK? Trust me, the Lord WILL help you make it thru this. This too will pass! My thoughts and prayers are always with you and your son, and Know that GOD loves you and your son. ...soooo he would NOT want you to let the devil torture you like this. Put on the whole armor of God. Stay in his word and he will comfort you. Jesus said,"I go to prepare a place for you ... and I will send a comforter to comfort you, the HOLY SPIRIT." HE IS THERE FOR YOU JUST REACH OUT AND START PRASING, PRASING, PRASING, PRASING--lift up holy hands to the Lord and praise HIS HOLY NAME. The devil hates praise, he will flee from praise and the word of GOD. Aman. BLESS HIS HOLY NAME ABOVE ALL OTHERS LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, MIND, AND SOUL...AND PRAISE HIS HOLY, HOLY, HOLY NAME. OK, HONEY??
Sincerely,
Jan

You ladies have my deepest graditude and thanks for your sacrifice. I know it hurts and seems like an eternity before that day arrives that he will step of that freedom bird, it will come.
If you care about religious music, the two songs that help me daily are Christy Lanes One Day at a Time and Take my Hand Precious Lord, by Merle Haggard.

I would just like to say....THANK YOU........for your service to our country. This goes out to all your family and friends as well. Ya'll have sacrificed sooooo very much for those of us here at home. So that we can sleep in our beds at night....and live our lives everyday as we have always know. Because of those like you....who have given their all....and much, much more. Most of us will never ever know just how much. It's ya'll that make us PROUD TO BE AMERICANS....AND WE FLY OUR FLAGS PROUDLY. I try to teach my 9 year old son what ALL that means....ever chance that I get....and to show respect for all that wear our US military uniforms.
In my opinion....it doesn't matter if you agree with the current or past wars....YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BE PROUD OF THOSE WHO PROTECT OUR COUNTRY AND OUR WAY OF LIFE. If NOT for them....where would America be? How different our lives could easily be...if not for those who stand up for us and protect our way of life and the freedoms that we hold near and dear to our hearts.
So....I say to you again....THANK YOU....with all my . I pray that GOD will Bless you and keep you safe always.
WITH XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX'S TO YOU ALL.
SHANNON.....FROM THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS....AND PROUD OF OUR GUYS AND GALS SERVING AT HOME OR ABROAD.
