Ok, so I'm at a point where I have the funds and flexible work schedule to travel. But no one around me is, . I love Philly, but I gotta see other places. I have a passport collecting dust, and a summer wasting. Of course I would like to see white sand beaches and tropical drinks, but I'll be just fine going to Florida, or NYC. I just want a like minded travel buddy.  Is that you?

I would not mind a great travel buddy. I am planning a trip to Ireland in the spring and then probably Thailand and Vietnam in the summer. This year I spent 3 weeks in China and 10 days in Cambodia. I was going to drive the Blue ridge Parkway a couple weeks ago but it did not work out.

I travel by myself far too much. It gets old. Depending on where you are going it can be safe. I felt a little uneasy on my euro trip last month. London and Amsterdam were not a problem, but in France I was always looking behind my shoulder. Right from the airport I took the subway into the city and was uneasy at first. My suggestion would be to join a tour group, you can save money, it will be less stressful, safer, and you will have people to talk to. I have used Caravan tours to travel to Panama, Costa Rica, and a trip to the Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Lake Powell, Vegas. The company prides themselves in reduced rate based on word of mouth, so they don't advertise. Most trips are around 800-1100 and single supplement is only about 200 more. This includes all entrance fees to parks, recreational activities, museums etc. They stay in nice hotels. Usually all meals. Alcohol is free on some of the trips outside the US. Travel on!

I'm open-minded and open to almost activity, destination, method of travel, accomodations, lifestyle, etc. But keep in mind I love fishing, snorkeling, boating/sailing, adventure, beaches, and partying. My destination wish list: Macchu Piccu, Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica (sportfishing and adventure), Caribbean, South Pacific, Greece, Italy, Mediterranean, Thailand, French Polynesia, Hawaii, China, Australia/Great Barrier Reef, New Zealand, WWII South Pacific, WWII Europe, New Orleans (Mardi Gras), Grand Canyon, San Fran, even back to HedoII in Jamaica... LOL... did I miss any?

Retired military man would like to buy an RV and travel entire US for about a year with a buddy.
I've done a lot of traveling, including using an RV! Traveled from Florida all the way to Niagara falls with 3 dogs! I think now my days traveling with the RV is over.
I traveled with a friend, and what a pain to be with! I even paid for the trips and expenses and all I heard was complaints and nags!
When I go to a place, I like to rent a car to be mobile and see more places! I don't like waiting for public transportation trying to get around!
This christmas, I'm going to the Philippines to visit my sisters and see the country once again. It has been over 19 years since I've been there!

I'm curious as to how this travel buddy thing works? How do you know you are traveling with a respectable and dependable person. Who pays? When I have traveled with my friends, one of us pays the expenses and the others reimburse, but then they are my friends and I trust them. How do you decide with a stranger where to go?
