Pop the champagne corks. The Texas Board of Education has unanimously come down on the side of evolution. In an 8-0 vote, the board today approved scientifically accurate high school biology textbook supplements from established mainstream publishers--and did not approve the creationist-backed supplements from International Databases, LLC.

Now if some other less informed states would follow suit.......
We could educate children better.

Well, since Texas has the "high voice" about school texts with the publishers -nationwide- I am pretty sure the scientifically accurate high school biology textbook supplements will find their way to most states in the Union.

I was thinking of all states and all school boards not just most.
not detracting from the victory just know in the past how some schoolboards in certain areas claimed the school doesn't have funds to update such materials yet because they do not agree with an issue.
I'm sure you have seen this too?

Fortunately, NYC is very good about NOT allowing any religious shit in the schools.
BTW, no money is not an excuse...since the material can be seen over the Smartboards in each classroom.

I am really surprised Texas voted in favor of Evolution...since the Board there is known for favoring religion all the way....and for eeping people in Stupidityville.

I am sure the board will be voted out at the next election for this decision.

It all depends on the take from the publishing corp. and how vocal the Atheist segment of the population becomes.
