*This is sdakotaguy2011 reporting from the Rally-less Sturgis. Wow ! I've never seen a town DIE after two huge events. Since April of this year, the population of this town had been primping & preening their homes, storefronts, and such; until the Motorcycle & Mustang Rallies arrived in the last two weeks of this year. Then, POOF ! Everything is laid to rest, and this town becomes a Cemetery !
Since I am a Recovering Adult-Onset Diabetes survivor, I have to walk at least one quarter mile after each meal and medication. Geeze ! In the four years that I have resided in this town, I never really paid much attention; now, since my diagnosis in February of this year - I've paid attention.
I hail from Brooklyn, NY. Arriving in Rapid City in 2007 - it was much like the suburbs I grew up in. I moved to this town four years ago, due to circumstances beyond my control. Fortunate for me, Ft. Meade Medical Center is within a two mile walking distance from my current residence.
New York, is open twenty-four hours a day. Sturgis rolls-up the sidewalks at about ten o'clock in the evening !
Women to date are sparse, to say the least. I dunno; I am attending an online university to attain my AABA degree in business. Thinking of moving to Spearfish, where I can take advantage of the university's library. Big setback, I don't have a car - and I let my license expire about six year ago, due to an ongoing heart disease & stroke.
Guess I am STUCK in this eight blinking traffic lights (in the evening); for a while....
