I am sorry for your loss. I know your pain.
I lost my dad 1 year, 7 months ago. He passed due to congestive heart failure at age 63.
I was by his side when he passed and our last words were "I love you".
My dad was my best friend, my guidence, my financial adviser, my lawyer....my world!
It's beyond devistation that no words can describe.
I tear up everytime anything in relation to my dad is mentioned or thought of, but I have no regrets and our last exchange of words will forever hold in my heart along with fond memories of him.
At this point, thats all you can do.

few have the true friendship relationship with their dad's to have had all those storybook conversations we all wish we had had, when its too late....i would thank my dad for not judging me during difficult times or stupid mistakes i made, but just looking at me and saying "how can I help you?"...what a great man he was....and i miss him

There is only one thing that need be said. I still say it everytime I look at his picture. Thanks for everything, Dad, I love you.
Whenever I have a difficult situation and I need some advice, I just say "What should I do, Dad?" I usually know what his answer would have been, and its usually correct.

Thank you all so much for your kind words and your thoughts.
My dad and I were very close and he lived with me after mom
passed so we had lots of talks, and laughs and precious time
together that I will always
cherish. I am sad but I am OK....and knowing there are so many
wonderful caring people on here is a great comfort.
Thank you all...and please go hug or call your mom and dad if you can.
Love to you and god bless.....
And my condolences and prayers go out to all those that have also
lost someone near and dear and took the time to write.

I am very sorry about your loss. I feel for you, I am 18 and I lost my mom 2 years ago. She had cancer. She was the longest person to live with that type of cancer. I didnt have the chance to say good bye. I regret not goin to her house that day. What I would say to her is that I love her and she was the best mom anyone could ever ask for, I miss you and I will see you later.

Yankee..my deepest sympathies to you and your family...he must have been VERY proud of you and his ability to raise a fine person. I am so glad you were able to be with him...and help him to pass one in comfort...that is the way we should all go..peacefully.
I tried to write you a private note, however your profile is invisible.
I am not really comfortable writing this in the group, however...for the benefit of
saying something special to you...I post here.
You are so fortunate that you knew your father and had a lifetime with him.
I never knew my father, never had that wonderful special relationship with a father
image as a child growing up. Yes, I have tears in my eyes now, and running down my checks.
I always wished I could be like other little girls of my era, that had brothers
sisters and both parents to go home to. I never had that. Only child, single mom struggling to pay the bills and keep a roof over our head, *some food* on the table.
We learned many lessons on how to survive..on the job experience I do not wish on anyone.
When I was 33, I married a much older man that gave me that special part of life that
I missed...he was my solid rock of Gibraltar....he taught me the things that I envision fathers teach their daughters..as they are growing up.
Be kind and loving...say what you mean, and mean what you say.I was so fortunate to
meet this man, at a time in life when I could be nurtured, adored, and made to be special.
He gave me everything in life I had missed...he died at home in my arms in comfort and
well cared for...as he should have been. He was a class man with kindness to all those around him. I am sure your father was of the same cloth...
So..you are lucky...you had a lifetime of love...some are not that fortunate...
but we are not in charge...
We are here to do the best we can with what we have. You have the cherished memories,
you are a wonderful person.
Hugs from my heart.
