I was getting too close to a man here on DH too. We were using the IM alot, for hours at a time discussing our pasts, somewhat, and having intimate discussions. We planned our meeting, and I was so nervous yet excited. Then, I got cold feet. I felt like it was moving way to fast for someone that I only talk to over the phone and IM. It felt as though we knew each other and for years. We are very different in many ways yet compatible in others. We did meet, and I was still impressed with him but wanted it to slow down. He seems to understand, though I think he may be disappointed. We still talk and use the IM..I dont know where its going now actually, if anywhere. He's been single longer than I have yet he claims he hasnt been dating anyone..but I have. Just need to see if anything furhter develops I guess. But at least I told him how I felt and didnt block him. That guy that blocked you is immature and self seeking. he was leading you on..jmo....

The big deal is no one likes to be rejected. Dont want it to happen again.
I'm new too this.
I thought people here were interested in relationships not just talking, I know talking is how it starts but to be cut off abruptly. that is not fun.
As for the distance thing. My goal is to move to the US in the future. To pick where I'm going is yet to be decided. I might just move for that special someone. And I really liked him, even if we could have just been friends I know he was going to be fun.

This is really strange but I would have atleast given you the courtesy of an email stating that i am no longer interested or I have met someone else that I click with better and she/he lives closer...I would only block the person if his/her emails become threatening or extremely nagging....If someone pesters me constantly then that would be a huge red flag for me...sorry, you will surely find someone else...

rnbettyboop: I don't believe you did anything wrong. Sorry to read about what happened. Rejection is tough to take, though it is part of dating and getting to know someone. It is bad that he did not give you an explanation of what happened. Yes, this site is supposed to be for people to get into a relationship and not just talking. However, there are people on this site (and other dating sites) who are not serious about meeting for a number of reasons (they are married, bored, playing games, or just insensitive). The best thing I can recommend is to go by what a guy does, that is the best give away of his sincerity and seriousness. Hang in there.

My goal is to move to the US in the future.
As a canuck with a green card waiting out the five years to apply for U.S. citizenship, I can (a) understand the reasons why you might want to and (b) tell you that it is very difficult to immigrate to the U.S. (The green card lottery is closed to Canadians).
Also, that desire is a HUGE red flag: many would think you're seeking to snag a husband just for the green card.
