Everyone at my job gave me happy holiday cards except one person who gave me an x-Mas card. I thanked her but asked if she knew I was and atheist. Once I had to explain to her what that meant, she said, and I quote, "so you believe in god, that's horrible."
Needless to say, she no longer works here.
I get the same sh*t from people, you're all not alone.

Contrary to popular belief... there are Many who are ""NOT so BLind"" as to be led around by the collar like blind sheep...
Religious zealots are a BIG turn off..!
When Jehovah Witnesses come to my door.. I dread it... butt I at least tell them I'll be glad to listen to them if they will come in and have a drink with me... and answer my questions... such as WHY it is that ""THEY"" or their ""RELIGION"" precludes them from ""VOTING "" here in America?
I also like to ask...""WHY is Nudity "" a Bad , unacceptable thing to their religion??

After reading some earlier comments, I keep having to recheck that this is a group for Athiests and non-religious people. I find it very annoying that "gods disciples" feel that they have to cram their beliefs into every corner on earth even when preventive measures have been taken. Unless I'm bat shit crazy, or dumber than I could possibly imagine, "Athiests and non-religious" doesn't pertain to any Christian on Earth. Is it coincidence that I've never once in my life been belligerently lectured in attempt to be converted by a person of the Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist or any other of the other religions? I'm not saying that all Christians do this, but it is ALWAYS a Christian that's doing it. What is it about their religion that makes such a large portion of their followers so damn self-righteous? I was raised catholic and I renounced my faith before I was 18. Not once have I ever militantly sought out a Christian with the intention of launching a belligerent attack on Christianity. I hate that because I live in the Bible Belt, a year has not passed in which I havnt been excessively provoked multiple times. Shit, rant over.

My step dad (who is an atheist) is probably the most moral person I know, so that takes care of that bullshit. Theists need the fear of going to hell before they'll agree to behave and "choose the right".

The day I not longer see a believer committing a sin (lying, criticizing the neighbor, cheating on the spouse, overcharging for car repairs, touching a child's privates, robbing a store / bank.....) I will start to think about the Atheists and morals.

I have found that the only reason Christians think an atheist has no morality is because they view atheism as a religion. In that case it's true that atheism has no morality because it possesses only one definition in the dictionary.
