if you have or know someone that does, I would like to know what it is like down there. I have searched some realestate companies there, cheaper down there than the states.
I would like to email with someone down there. I see dathookup does not have anyone registered from that country.

I have been lucky to have been to Belize four times in the last nine years and have seen alot of the country. I love it there and already am making plans to go back. Keep in mind there is a 10 to 12 percent tax on everything you buy.Also if you bring items into the country over 200.00 they hit with a heavy duty fee. So if you buy property and want to import stuff for a house you will pay dearly for it.I was there last March and talked with a couple ladies there about buying land.They told me there is an annual tax of 10 percent on the value of the property.If you lease it's different.I saw some farm land for sale however one place it was 200,000 for 200 acres.Unless you want to start an organic chocolate farm in the Toledo district I wouldn't bother.I was told the reason why the cattle are so small and sickly is the grass that grows there is not a good feed for them.Ambergris is very nice but the the prices are very high and it is one of the most popular places for Americans.Caye Caulker maybe cheaper and more of what Ambergris was like 10 to 12 years ago.If you have a big wallet Caye Chapel supposedly bought by Johnny Depp is selling small pieces of that island.Rather than invest in property there you should go and visit and talk to locals.Then decide. I traveld thru that whole countryof belize and lived along outskirts of city of belize.infrustructor of the intier0country is almost none exsistance.roads are terrible travel distance of 100 miles in 8 hour.country has no real export perhaps rum. Poverty strickin many housing is from relif aid from hurricane hugo city of belize0is built along canals built as a refuse sewage waste canals run to the medetrainain0sea city is a gehto. Vendors along canals food beverage,i left belize thru south western direction into guatemala main route is from chetamale on the yucatan,country is low lying sand dunes prone to hurricane damage intier country is built on stilts house s on stillts stores everything... Menue of the day out house s above canals,vender selling catfish whatever poles in the canal cat fish snapin at outhouse feces fishermen catchin vendor celling that fish entier country is black cerole with british accent cool from british honduros slave traders..also surounding regions are comunistic veiws gringo unfriendly unless tourista at club med belize unless investing on a island self sufecint or a resort suxtourist depending on storms tidal and wind no tress jungle start nery guatemala border ther ya go i ived all around there 4 years into s.america
