nothing worse than fantasy books that are just thinly veiled romance stories.

The Sookie Stackhouse series would have to be my favorite as far as vampires go...The Mayfair Witches series by Anne Rice was another great read for me.

I do enjoy any vampire novel never the vampire diaries that's just childish. I mean whatever happened to the real vampire mythology that humans were supposed to fear not glorify or swoon over.

I don't know if they are still publishing novels but look for world of darkness/white wolf novels. White Wolf is mainly a game company like Wizards of the Coast, but they have put out some really good novels based on their World of darkness involving werewolves, vampires, mages, and a few other things. You won't be disapointed if you want classic vampires are monsters to be feared stuff.

If you enjoy books about vampires and werewolves than you will love Amelia AtWater Rhodes. She has many different series containing the subject matter of shapeshifters. Two of my favorites are the Kiesha'Ra series and the Den of Shadows Quartet.

I have read a lot of fantasy n by far my favorite for vampires and werewolves is the Riley Jenson series by Keri Author. The books were amazing. It had a twist on mythical creatures and even added some I never knew about.

Anita Blake series has my vote. Yes, the later books was about 80% sex, but, almost all of it tied into the story in a very real way and it was REALLY well written sex. Another thing I like about the author is in some of her earlier books she kept going on about how awesome Glazer saftey rounds were. Then out of nowhere the character gets some "Advice" aainst them from a fed friend. Well, after doing some research of my own I found that there was a whole lot of hype about them when they came out. However, after a while profesionals were finding how unreliable they were.
I guess Im trying to say that I think its pretty cool that she kept her books up to date with good firearm lore.

The host, by Stephanie meyer is my favorite book!! Also, the Mortal Instruments series is amazing and coming out as a movie in august. If you're going for post-apocalyptic (my favorite) then Pure by julianna baggott is awesome. Or divergent, also being made into a movie. Haha these are all young adult books, I find them more interesting

I've of course read the Twilight Series, the Morganville Vampires series, the House of Night series, L. J. Smith, Bloodthirsty by Flynn Meaney, Sunshine by Robin McKinley (she writes fantasy also), and many others I sadly can't remember.

I got out of but not all the way, of forgotten realms, dragon lance enerron, magic, etc and I read every book I'm print in all these series but now I have to wait for new ones in used bookstores, too expensive new, so while waiting I got a bunch of clearance books from half price books by p. Briggs , k. Chance, hendee, etc & I am hooked in the paranormal world. Yeah there's a lotta sex in some but amazing stories from great storytellers. I read a book in two days easy. Got on this dating site week ago. Very dissappointed but hey found this area about books & see who has interest tha I can converse with bout books we love. That's a start!?
