I hate it when I am arguing with a Christian and they tell me that the bible cannot be interpreted literally. That it has to be understood spiritually and that god hasn't given me the ability to understand it. They really do live in a dream world.

Christianity probably would not have been so damaging had they not put the mass in English. At least before then only religious scholars were allowed to interpret it. Since it's a political text it is kinda like me running for office. Trust me, not good.

Back to your OP where they say "you can't take the bible literally".
I find this rather amusing because it usually follows them losing
an argument when they were quoting something literally.
In other words, they'll be quoting something literally to justify
their discrimination, but when you point out something else that
condemns their behavior, all of a sudden, you can't take things literally.
So I guess, "It's the absolute word of god" when it supports them.
"It's just a metaphor" when it doesn't.

Did you buy the printer recently...and if so, did you buy it with a credit card?
If you bought it with a CC get proof from the CC company (it will have a bar code / serial unit #) and consult a lawyer...I did the same when I saw my "gone laptop" in a friend's friend's home. I reported to the authorities he had stolen property in his home. Both "friends" got their punishment.

Unfortunately this happened almost 3 years ago. I did contact the police and since i kept all my papers for it in the box it was in... i couldn't prove it was mine. :-/ furthermore it didn't help it was a college town and the cops were ashmoles who were mostly ex military to boot. (Manhattan ks...) but thank you..

I don't know about that. Of the religious/spiritual types, by far I have found the xians to be the most offensive. A lot of people I have known personally were non-xian but still religious/spiritual and I never even knew. I assumed they were atheists too.
That's why I define myself more as Anti-Christian than atheist. Though I admit I became an Anti-Christian BECAUSE I "came out" as atheist at 11. I would have put Anti-xian in my profile had they had a write-in option.

You know, I did once have faith and actually was relgious... "With faith, God will help you..."
Surrrreee..... Did he help when my mother grieved like crazy over being widowed, and as my family ransacked some of our things during my childhood? Nope.
Did he help when I went through the worst of bipolar and an eating disorder? Nada.
Or did he demonstrate support when I went through high school with the constant worry of my mom's cancer killing her when I was in a situation where I couldn't get to her? Nah.
These churchgoing people always say they don't judge or commit 'sin'... Every church I went to (popular ones, mind you), the priests and high positions of them were always involved with adultery, and they were always the most judgemental people I ever knew, including my psycho family. 
Well, I'm done ranting now

What I really love are all the hateful christians who will go to church, pray, ect but when it comes to interacting with people they judge them, make fun of them and are over all b*tches or a**holes. Especially online. Their good Lord watches all this.. But they dont see it as bring hypocritical at all.
I've met nicer atheists and pagans than christians. Js.
Oh and had anyone noticed there are a lot of christians/catholics/religious people in the bi lesbian gay forum? Seems legit.

A 32 yr old christian in 20s chat has told me he is looking for a virgin woman to marry.. His reason is he waited till marriage and expects the same from the woman.. The kicker is he believes non virgins (even born again virgins) just don't have respect. So he is judging them.. Basically.
I told him if that's the only way he thinks to get respect he should crawl back under the rock he came up from. Smh... No one needs his ignorance.

Guess you can't like a great person, better than many "believers" if they are openly atheist. Thankfully my parents, who are of faith, respect my conclusions.

Which only means they are GIVING UP. And then they can later act as if it's not their fault they are complete losers and that it's just all part of "God's Plan".
And if God supposedly has a big book that details everything that will ever happen to any of us, why bother going through the motions like a puppet in a play? And why in the heck would you waste time in a church or give your hard earned money to one if all your life is pre-planned anyway?
When Christians try to get me to go to their church, I sometimes assure them that it's part of God's Plan for me to live my life as an Atheist and they shouldn't fight God's Will. Boy, does this get them choking in indignation.
I recently moved to Texas and am constantly being invited to attend one church or another as if it's an automatic given that I MUST attend church like they do. I asked one couple where the Atheist church was in Lubbock and they clearly didn't grasp the irony.

What's all the fuss about a book written 400 years ago? If you think youve proven people right about what your talking about, why go on about it? Why not talk about some other book besides the Bible? It must be some book if people are talking about it
