Love my kiger mustangs, my gelding for being soo short has won me many ribbons/ high point champion prizes and even a buckle in gaming for bein a little mustang he sure can turn n burn, I've worked him in cows too in OHSET and he loves to get after Em, my mare is still in training she's alot more difficult than my gelding, I train my own horses, I love the breed for trail ridding because they are tough and sure footed,
Weirdest thing is my friend let me ride her thoroughbred ohhh boy is that ever a difference going from a tiny short legged mustang to a long legged long stride thoroughbred, I couldn't imagine bein a jockey and falling off such a tall horse goin soo fast in a race, I just loped him around the arena and felt like I was running full bore, it was scary but a new experiance bein on a bigger taller horse.

I have many different breeds. Can't say I have a favorite. I have a paint a AQHA, appy, tb and a gypsy. Hard to choose a favorite. I'm thinking aboutpurchasing a cremello akhal-teke named Kegas from a friend. He is gorgeous!

I'm a lover most breeds. I own quarters but honestly they don't do anything for me anymore since everyone's bred their hooves and brains out. Even the cow horses have barely any sense. I would know, own a Two Eyed Jack. I love my quarter gelding but he has his glitches as well. He's not a TEJ. He's a regular REG QH. Then there's my 2 mustangs. Love the big bones and good hooves along with their brains. I have a Nevada mustang who I took to an endurance/obstacle challenge and he won me Grand Champion in my division without ever being trained/worked for it. I have a 13yr old now gelded Kiger mustang. I love his spirit. He's still technically wild, but knows how to free lunge in the round pen and will come running to the fence for his grain, several times a day too thinking he's going to get more. I'm also a Shire, Friesian and Andalusian lover as well. I love big boned horses. I love the Andalusians for their grace & beauty. It's my life goal to own at least one of the three. My main goal is a Friesian. To own an animal that was once almost extinct and then brought back and was a knight's mount in midevil times would be wonderful.
Spoken from someone who hasn't been around a lot of horses.
Arabians have decent feet but their heals are bad. People don't like them because the horse is more intelligent than they are.
Throbreds have thin walls and brittle feet. There teeth are bad as well.
Warm bloods are crappy in every aspect.
Paints feet are terrible
Quarter horses feet can be there minds are good they are veristile.
Every breed has counterfeit bastards or tr horse needs the right person. Every breed Is good and bad but quarter horses can work the ranch go to rodeos show the list is long

Ya your right any horse can but can they excel not really. Lol congrats you trained for a track you help teach a horse to get in a confined space and run a straight line. I've trained horses off the track and I love it because you get to fix a blown up horse.

I've trained wild ones too the trouble with them is they bond with the trainer and will do anything I ask but won't bond with the owner. There like a healer that way. And that's why I own 3 mustangs now. They have the heart and want to to team rope but there body stature doesn't allow them to so they can't excell bugs loves to rope but I'm not winnin a roping on her. Just because they love it and want to and the heart doesn't mean they'll excell

Ranch raised QHs are one of the best. I've trained appys, draft, a zebra, Arabs, QH, and mustangs. They are all good horses for different reasons and they can all be a pain in the a** to when they want to be. So I like my ranch horses the best.

Try having minis that can get out of any fence. Omg the minis I have had were little devils when it comes to trying to keep them in a fence.

Paint. Overo mostly simply because of the beauty of a bald face and sapphire blue eyes (okay so I am partial to a specific one). Tobiano is pretty as well. Basically, as long as the mount is sturdy, has a good heart (not mean) and mind then breed does not matter.

Preference is an Arab - Love their minds, courage and never ending drive. Have had Arabs, QHs, Paints and mutts. My current ride is a Haflinger / Mustang cross pony that I've had since he was born, and he is worth his weight in gold. Everything from handicapped rider to a little snot that dumps me on my a** just to show me he still can. He lets my toddler walk him around and has a dirty sense of humor.

My little guy is a Hanc*ckQuarter Horse/Spanish Mustang cross. Talk about pretty faces/big hips! And, he has the beautiful mind to go with his looks. Both my horses have been Buckskins, and you couldn't find more awesome pair of geldings anywhere. I've been very blessed. Think my next horse will be a Missouri Fox Trotter, though because of their smooth ride.
