I'm a Quarter Horse person myself. I love all of 'em but quarters are definitly my favorite. I really like their versatility.

Most of mine ate AQHA or mule but do have one arab/qh who I got from a friend before she passed away...he does almost anything he is asked to do, and my usual horse for Search and Rescue calls in the summers. DH won't let me post a pic in threads yet...darn it....

I have 3 Haflingers. They are very friendly and love human interaction. Mine are draft style. My gelding " Hugo " loves to pull his cart around any arena at a high rate of speed just to show the crowd he can outdo the big horses.

On trailrides I use a buckskin gelding . But when working cattle I ride a paint gelding that has been cut proud he won't back down from a bull or cow he is a fighter !

Mine are AQHA as well, the one I'm riding is foundation back to King. He's a blast to move cows on, especially in the high, brushy country. 
My colts are Peppy San Badger, Poco Bueno and Colonel Freckles bred.
We had a Colonel Freckles grandson in the '80s. He was one of the best horses I've ever rode. Such a good mind and a joy to be around.

I'm blessed with all three of my colts, they are all mild mannered, built well with big butts and love to learn.
Two are at the trainer and the third is going to have to wait until next year. He's a little pricey but well worth it. He does more in 30 days than most trainers do in 60.
It's well worth it if they're good at what they do. The one I used to work for full-time and help occasionally now is pricey as well, but he can do wonders with them if you leave him alone to do it. A lot of people expect quick results in all situations, but as you know it has a lot to do with the horse and how quickly they come along. Each has their own personality, so we just can't tell until they get started. I guess the thing I respect most about this one is that he'll tell you up front if you're wasting your money. If the horse isn't going to be able to cut, he'll let you know before you invest a lot in it. A lot won't do that. They'll keep them for a while to make some money. I don't think that's good business. A good trainer is worth a lot.

We still break all of our own horses old school ,we usually start them at 3 and rope them and put a hackamore on them an then put them on a stake rope in a couple days we hobble and jack a foot up and sack them out ,put a saddle on and get on and off a few times and then we get in the middle of them ,,and when we can get him turning around some we follow a broke horse out to keep out of the fences and such and helps get him to travel out,,and pretty soon he goes to work ,,I know its not the modern way but it is the way I was taught .

Paints, the Tobi pattern is my favorite. I had a Quarter horse, a Thoroughbred, a Mustang and a Tennessee Walker over the years. This picture is Chief and somehow I managed to capture him trying to escape Had to put snaps on the latches cause he figured out how to open them. Booger...

Some of the refined Hanc*ck blood they have today is ok ,,but they don't ride like they use to ,and that old blood has no place (the bronc peelers today don't understand or get along with them )

I have one infact its the mare in my photos aways has to test the waters a lil w a couple crow hops after that shes best horse i have. She also has some doc bar blood in her on her moms side.
