I always make the first move.
Just understand that us women are far more analytical and read into everything much deeper than we probably should. I would say that about 1 out of 15 male profiles demonstrate a man's willingness to put some effort into this dating "thing", the other profiles......OMG!!!! If u don't care enough to accurately and clearly describe yourself and what u r looking for in a woman, than why should we care enough to approach you.
To me, it shows a man is being "all about" themself. Do i really think it will be any different once involved in a relationship with that person?

Ok, to me, there are SIGNS that a woman gives to a man to tell him to move on in. In some ways, you could look at it as the women always really ARE making the first move. The flip of the hair, the extended eye contact, the licking lips, the soft brush up against your arm.
If a guy is too clueless (or not confident enough) to pick up on these signs, or a girl is too shy (or not confident enough) to give out the signs in the first place, well, one word. AWKWARD.
I guess I don't have the patience for it at this point, personally. I want a man with some smooth moves....but not a legend only in his own mind...ugghhh. The cheese.
That being said, there are also signs a woman and man give each other that says "Thanks but no thanks". Those signals (covert and overt) are just as important to pay attention to.

What jangel53 wrote seems to be partially true in my experience and according to the research I've done...
She wrote, "Because men want to think they won the woman like a prize & they beat out all the other guys to get her. If you give in it's too easy, men get bored. Ask Dr. Phil."
I don't watch Dr. Phil, but when I do something more than once that has the same end result, I research why it didn't work. No man has ever been bored with me; but, a man doesn't really appreciate what he has when it falls into his lap. I know a LOT of you won't agree with this and it doesn't matter... I've experienced it, then done the research. There isn't a woman more bold than I am, but I save that for when I'm already dating him or in a relationship. Otherwise, (and I wish it weren't true), but it throws off the balance of the relationship.
