I'm a chevy guy at heart and refuse to drive any kind of ford. I currently have an '86 chevy C20 with a GM goodwrench 350 crate motor. Stock is little less than 300 hp. I had a '68 chevy C20 prior to this also with a 350 and before that an '89 camaro 5 speed with a V6

I like Chevy/GM cars and trucks. The two Ford trucks I had just didn't impress me, one a 75 E100 I even bought new.
Now I have a 1984 K20. 70,000 miles. Great shape so I'll keep it forever.

I always loved Chevy's that's all I owned but now I own a Ford police interceptor and I like it a lot. Its the only Ford car I ever owned so I guess it's OK that I like both a little lol.

GMC but does anyone know what to replace on the brake booster. Hit the brakes hard and heard the problem with them not working good now is a sensor or a valve on the booster.

No offense oc-cowboy,but i've literally pushed a few chevys myself,and i've blown 3,plus a buick,and 2 pontiacs,and that's precisely why i drive a ford.....I've blown one ford,wherewhich i put in a new oil pump,snugged the bolts finger tight,then took a break,and forgot to tighten the bolts....After driving the ford a few miles,it started knocking,but i went on to middlesboro ky from bean station tn,and it blew about 3 miles from home on my way back,and when i tore in to the motor,i found what went wrong....The oil pump was about to fall into the oil pan....Bottom line is that my ford went nearly 70 miles like that,and the motor was a 351m400....oh,and the chevys just couldn't take my foot,and i hadn't worked on them and done something wrong

I for one love both cars bc they support America... Chevy is got cheaper parts and more interchangeable parts for they're sbc then ford does. But does anyone pick a side bc of the facts.... No!!! CHEVY all the way. i have worked on fords and Chevy.s i have a 07 Malibu and a 98 s10 with a hundred and thirty thousand miles on it.put a new head gasket on the s10 last fall runs like a champ now.fords are terrible to work on IMO

Ford,preferably from the 60's to early 70's,but i'm ok with the 69 chevelle as a car to own,and i like the 77 camaro type LT....I think the factory metallic green 69 chevelles were just fine left alone,with the exception of some nice wheels,but Ford is my passion.

I have had both. I love my old mustangs. I have raced a lot of chevys and
still have chevy race motors in my shop. I have good things to say about 350
chevys and the 302 fords.
Sad for me after the bailout though. Not just taking the money but screwing
over a lot of the dealers and investors. On principle I would have to say
it will be a cold day before I ever by a Chevy made after that day.
I guess its okay to keep my old stuff but they will never get any more of my money.

CHEVY fords are built cheap and fall apart , trust me on this one I was a mechanic for many years , and most of the work was on fords, or just go to a junk yard and see for yourself how many fords are in there compared to Chevy or other makes , most of the time more than half !!!!!

. That's why the new Chevy cruzes are a rolling fireball waiting to happen right? And the cobalts had serious issues because their wiring harnesses were too short and any engine movement would tear the harness from the injectors right? Get out of here with the "im a mechanic... Trust me" bullshit.

I had an 04 Ford work truck the computer went the drive shaft broke the door fell off because the hinges broke away , the transmission fell apart , the 4x4 went out , that's a well made piece of sh*t

I agree, actually I like a little a little of this mixed with a little of that just to see what I come up with this time. And yes, Late Model Trash, is just that. Although I would like that trans out of a Veyron.

Overall, Ford seems to be stronger in innovative ideas. However, Chevy seems to have more loyalty and sell more. So, depends. Overall, I prefer Ford over Chevy, because they are easier to work on for me. I know both Ford and Chevy have a long list of issues with their vehicles that piss a lot of people off. I am guessing the Ford haters got stuck with a problematic Ford and the Chevy haters the same. Personally, I had a Mercury Topaz in college and it had lots of problems. It was a cheap car that lasted only six years. I also had a Buick Skylark Sport that the engine blew up on me. That car was very fast and handled well. Now, I have a 1988 Ford F-150 and 2000 Mitsubishi Galant. Both are very dependable vehicles that require only scheduled maintenance for the most part.

Everyone seems to have their own opinions on which they like more. Has anyone posted anything legitimate? Because my opinion is actually based on a true fact.
I prefer Chevys because the Chevy 350 is the most widly used, and most popular, motor in history. They are also cheaper to build than Ford motors.
Can anyone come up with a reason that is an actual FACT? And not just a matter of opinion? And by the way, just saying that whichever you prefer is more reliable, is not based off of facts, it's just a matter of opinion.

both are decent vehicles .... as far as trucks .. the new ford powerstroke is using GM bought technology ... the new 5.0 is a good motor ... I'm still 100% LS motors all the way ... but that's jst me ..

The brand war thing is just plain stupid. Their are plenty of lemons and recalls with all the "Big 3"
Me personally cant find one model in the Ford lineup that is aesthetically appealing to me. Except the Jaguar brand and to me Id get a CTS-V before I get a Jag.
For several different reasons.
Doesnt matter, chevy or ford. Get what fits you and drive it. There are way more important things to hone your attention too, like resale value, cost of ownership,mpg,warranty coverage,etc.
