Is it just me, or after a few years of being cheif cook and bottle washer, does other people's cooking taste better? I am justifiably proud of several things I cook, but a person (a woman, IME) cooking something average just tastes wonderful! Count me in for washing dishes!
And it has the unrelated benefit of making the woman seem sexy as hell! Or am I just a perv?

I'll cook if you do the dishes!! I do think some things taste better when someone else cooks. Maybe because I always taste and end up not being very hungry. Idk

I can relate. As a chef I more appreciate the time and effort that goes into meals provided for me.

It is my reward/punishment depending on how well it comes out. I learned to make pizza from ingredients I can buy at the grocery store and experimented with sour dough bread.

There's a couple of dishes I make that I won't even eat. Like flan de miel (honey flan). I just don't eat flan but everyone else seems to love my flan recipe.

I love to cook. But cooking for one is not that easy for me.

I usually just cook several things at a time and then fix them "leftover's" up during the week. But I can still whip up a meal for 200 in no time flat. j/s

I have found I eat much less this way also.

I preferred homecooked foods. I enjoy my own cooking, but always compliment others when they prepare something for me.

~~OP~~

I prefer my own cooking ... that way I know what went into the dish, and how well it was handled.

I love to cook, but don't like to eat my own cooking... UNLESS it is the next day!

I believe that all the smelling and tasting of the dish(es) during the actual cooking simply saturates your taste sense so that "you lose your appetite by the time the dish is finished".

So the trick is to cook a braise/stew or a nice soup, put it in the fridge and then ENJOY it the next day.

The day of the actual cooking, just order a pizza.

Happy Cooking!

I love cooking for people I care about, but if it just me I don't mess with it and keep it simple (sandwich, salad, etc)

I really wouldn't know cause every guy I dated aren't very good cooks. I have 3 chefs in my family so I did learn from the best and all my friends and family love my cooking especially when I'm experimenting lol
