Here's my issue.. I have had several major surgeries in my life and have some pretty bad scars. But all of them are under my clothes.. so nobody sees them unless we are intimate. I was with someone earlier who saw the scar on my back when I leaned over and it freaked him out a bit. It hurt my feelings cause I'm wondering how are we going to the next step if he can't handle seeing my scars? I sure ain't gonna have sex dressed.. wtf!! He was upset that he hurt my feelings and apologized over and over. Should I worry about this or just wait and see what happens? How would y'all feel about dating someone with scars? I promise I'm not grotesque! Just have been through hell!

We all got scars, age does that, if your that uncomfortable, dim the lights. Maybe discuss some of your surgeries in casual conversation, before your to the stage of intimacy, then at least he should expect to see some scars

I actually like them
call me weird but I find them fascinating I like to run my hands over them when touching the body. Its memory of your life EVEN THE ONES FROM CHILDBIRTH
and surgical scars are always precise and look like a design

It almost sounds like he was just caught by surprise when he noticed your scars. Hence the repetitive apologizing at upsetting you.
People are more than their appearance and some are so mesmerizing you stop noticing the little imperfections altogether. If he cares for you I wouldn't worry about it.
And penny, I thought more of you than a nasty comment like that.

Haha..very cute! No I don't care myself.. I have been looking at these Damn things for 25 yrs. It's not a tiny scar. I have a scar all the way down my spine from my neck to my butt, then one on each hip, then c-section scar. Yep my body is sexy , lol..

Everyone has scars, internal and external. The people you need to keep near you are those that accept them.
And agree with above poster, xray, I like seeing them and tracing them with my fingers, little soft kisses on them if it's comfortable to them. It's an integral part of them and I like to feel close to what made them who they are.

I got partially ejected out the back window of a pickup when a friend rolled his truck I was riding in as a kid, I was dragged on the pavement on my back for a 100 yards or so while it slid to a stop. My back was all torn up, most women just ask if it hurt and start rubbing my back like they are trying to make it feel better.  It happened almost 30 years ago, but I dont stop them from massaging my back

I figure each female body is unique in it's own way, scars don't bother me, I don't judge but I understand being shy about letting them show, or letting it bother you. For me, I like to ak where they came from and hear that girls story on what happened.

I wouldnt worry about it. Just see what happens. If worse come, which I doubt unless the guy is a total dumbass, then maybe in the future you should mention your scars before u get intimate so then the guy knows ahead of time. Good luck.

I'm with a couple other posters that love scars. My man has many from his head to his feet and I love them all because every one has a story and has made him the person he is today.
I also agree with the other poster who said he was caught by surprise. Definitely bring up your surgeries (he may feel uncomfortable asking what happened) which will help you better gauge his feelings by his reactions.

That is the best response here I have 3 decree burns on over 1/3 my leftnside,mostly leg,and 2 decree on the right leg,it has whent un noticed un till I wraped my legs around her....ther not the prettiest legs...I've learned to use the in conversation be for hand...a good way to get you scars out on your terms in sted of getting cought off guard........

Honey, real women and men have/get scars. Women get stretch marks after children and even in youth during growth. There is also the big possibility that we will have to get surgery, or be hurt in some way that may cause scarring.
If someone is that ridiculous to allow scars to bother them, they are better off alone ; wasting away in their stupidity.

I am not defending the guy but sometimes seeing the unexpected at the right time can turn into something more than it is. It probably only took just a few seconds of his reaction to make things really uncomfortable. About the same amount of time for his brain to tell him you were uncomfortable.
It can be hard to recover from this, even if its fine by him its gonna take some effort from both of you to get comfortable again. Noone is at fault here, let the issue settle and then try to move forward.

I have a big scar on my stomach. One guy when he first saw it he licked it. I was shocked and it was very sweet of him. I loved him. I have had people ask what happened. I've never seen major surgery scars maybe and appendicitis scar. The ones that made me take a step back are burns. It wasn't a turn off I just wasn't expecting it. So maybe stop and discuss before hand. It's not a big deal.

i can accept scars on a woman...and i hope they can accept mine...and all have so far..mine are all from motorcycle accidents then my colar bone is broken but dr.s said there is nothing that can be done about it so the bone bulges out and looks sick..then my hands have had around 70 stitches from the type of work i do...so if someone likes you.. but cant accept all of you then f**k them....

It's really kind of a joke altogether, as anyone I've had to assess
at my job has some type of scarring.
I can only think of one woman, who was 94, that had completely scar free, milky white clear skin from head to toe. She had only a few wrinkles on her face, and obviously her skin was not taut.

Here is the story of the scar from the jealous husband.
It was in the late 80's, my parents neighbor lady called my mother on the phone. Her son had crawled under the utility shed in the back yard and was stuck. My mother sent me to help. I drove my truck around to their house and parked in front of their house. Pulled the bumper jack from the bed and went through the gate. Using the jack I raised the corner of the shed and crawled under to get the scared child. Inside the house the dog was barking, the child was crying, the mother was crying. Then when I got to the child her husband pulls up thinking the worst. He kicked his front door open yelling at his wife, the dog got even more mean when this guy was yelling. Ran out the front door, around through the gate and attacked my feet which were sticking out from under the shed. One leg hit the bumper jack which fell dropping the shed on both the child and I.
The child was OK and I have not only dog bite scars on my leg, but nail hole scars on my back.

It sounds like you have major scars and your guy just wasn't expecting to see them. I see blood and wounds all the time in my work and it doesn't phase me. If I see blood or even a tiny scratch on my loved ones I feel nauseated and/or lightheaded. Talk to him about your life experiences that led to the scars. He sounds like a good guy...don't worry too much about it. You look beautiful!!! Wear your skin proud, you've earned it!
