Computer nerd checking in. System specialist for a big casino witha degree in programming/analysis. Been a computer nerd since I was 12, and got my first PC at 14. People I work with seen my build a couple months ago and convinced I'm going to eventually try to take over the world lol. So hard hard to find women that game or are nerds. I mean a true gamer/nerd, not one that owns a DS or something and thinks that makes them a nerd lol. Any close to northern ky hit me up!!!

Went to school for Electronics first started off in hardware engineering and work my way way up and to prototyper in research and development.
Have been building computers and networks for about 25 years now, started with DOS and Windows but about 15 years ago got into Linux an open-source. Never looked back and have only used Linux and opensource apps since then.. Done with windows.
I have been focused pretty much on the Internet and web based apps.
Haven't used windows in over a decade with exception of for DJing and building tools disks to cleanup infected windows systems.
Trying to buildup a linux only workflow for music and DJing.

i'm a nerd it makes it hard to date ppl dont understand me.
example today i was configuring 3 vpns with 3 subnets so that i can have a class a b and C network in my house but i used a 255.255.255.0 subnet for them all basically make them all class C networks with 3 sets of ip and protocols.
why? A gets A stuff B cant see A but uses b stuff and C is a over all boss aka admin account and has some network attached storage.
do i count as a computer nerd

I am have done Build/repair, Network administration, Network engineering, Telecommunications administration, Database administration on multiple platforms, Web development, 3000 machine roll-outs in 4 days with a crew of 3, phone rooting, jail-breaking and screen repair... and MANY many other misc. tasks.
Right now my favorite pastime is custom built gaming servers, Minecraft in particular, that are highly modified from the original game.
Any IT nerd will tell you that to be a truly good IT Professional you have to wear many hats.

 True. I work in the Automation industry, Open Control System Engineer, and we have all those things. 
Programming, Controllers, Servers, Switches, Computers, Networks, Databases, ..It's a very technical field.

I took a Web Application Architectures class which had some amazing guest speakers including Andy Rubins, and some other characters that I should know but I suck at remembering people's names. Andy was one of the Android os developers.
This is off the chain.
If you love computer guys or if you are a computer geek who loves themselves and are disciplined enough to take a class online then go for it. I struggled at times because I had so many things going on and am easily swayed to something different.

You have to weed through a bunch of crap (recruiters). Once you mind the motherload, you will be surprised at how many jobs / contracts are available. So many are telecommunication. Just plug your phone handset into the acoustic coupler and the internets is all yours for the taking!

That first keyboard you show has some sort of display? What is the source of that display? Is it a clone of one of the monitors?
I'd love to have something like that which was wireless, had a trackball and was b*tchen. Maybe connected to a (virtualized) kvm where you don't necessarily have to read the text on the screen, just be able to navigate a bit... That would be sex right there!

Awesome, it is honestly refreshing to actually talk about WOW and the components of a computer without be seen as somewhat of an outcast. Hopefully she can be present at New York's ComiCon coming up.
