Is anyone here into dream interpretation? I know, sounds like a dumb question considering the location of this post, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway. Not everyone is.
If you are into dream interpretation, would you be willing to interpret dreams from posters on this board?

Suzie....Yes I am into dream interpetation.

Dreams are many times a manifestation of one desires or needs.

Often dreams are just dreams though.

Do you ever think dreams can be a premonition?

Yes, from Jungian view of the unconscious ... Did you know that Fellini kept a dream journal with drawings
and notes for decades? It has just been published. He was one wild film maker, I want to read the book!

I'm going to have to get that book. I heard something of it, not too much though. Sounds cool.

Have you read the He, She, We books by R. Johnson? I just read them for first time this spring and was blown
away. I feel I got an inkling of projection, archtypes, and so on.... just enough to grasp the truth
in them. As far as dreams, I have many animals in my dreams. I still recall an epic dream of standing
on a vast plain while thousands of extinct beasts flowed around me.

No I can't say I've read the books by R. Johnson.
That's interesting about the animals frequanting your dreams, I would think that dreaming about being in the pressance of extinct beasts might be kind of scary though, especially if they were following me around. I actually had one about a week ago that
my back yard was full of tropical parrots and the sky was full of them flying around. Every type of parot I could think of was there, it was like a tropical jungle and way cool.

A parrot dream, a riot of colors,,, did you know that there are flocks of parrots in San Francisco? You can
rent "Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill" for a fantastic film. I have seen (and heard) them there.
I grew up on a farm and saw many sad things, and I still have dreams of animals dying, or
that I am trying to save them, or catch them. See if you can find the books at library so we
can discuss. If you are interested in the unconscious, in "love", and male/female, you will dig these.
I wish I had my own copies, checked them out of library.

Robert A Johnson "He, Understanding Masculine Psychology"

I saw something on tv about telegraph hill a few years ago. Maybe it was the movie you were refering to. In the movie they showed wild parrots, and a homeless guy had taken up residancy with a couple, and he "rescued" these wild birds and nursed them back to health when they were sick or injured. I think it was based on a true story. I completely forgot that they had parrots in San Fransisco.

Yes but why dirt roads? That was an awesome movie. I ran across it by accident, and it was an excellent movie. I might try to rent it again now that I know the title. Thanks I'm going to go to the library this weekend to see if I can check out that book you recomended. Small town, small library (haha we'll see). I'll let you know if I'm able to find it.

They may be able to order it. We have a system here where a patron can order a book anywhere in
the North State and it will come to the library for you. I order books all the time. If not, I saw
it on Amazon for 7 bucks, and a used book store just might have all three of the books!
I think my paths were dirt because I grew up in the country, and those images of the woods and obviously
the animals are very strong. But in my dream, I knew the paths would take me out of the country, back
to my city life, I could hear and see in the distance bulldozers, trucks, cement mixers. Strong dream!
Ever see the movie Castaway? Good flick, ends with the hero sitting at the crossroads. Movies
can be so dreamlike, and am sure those creative people who write, direct, produce, use their
dream images in the films!

I saw castaway along time ago, the ending was intense to me. It's funny how one persons tea is anothers potion. You grew up looking forward to getting out of the country and into the city and I grew up dreaming of moving out of the city and into the country (finally made it there yay No farm life though!!! I like the woods.). Anyway, thanks for the advice on ordering the book. I'll try that if I can't find it there (at the library).

I was in Little Rock once, pretty steamy in August! I grew up in Kentucky, but am now 100 per cent
Californian, love this state each day I wake up to sunshine and orange trees in my yard!
Anyway, I hope getting started on reading about the unconscious as it manifests in dreams, the
symbols we use, and the archtypes will be interesting to you. By the way, back in the 1950's I had
a dream that the "Russians" had invaded, and a soldier hid in my house. My hormones were just
kicking in, I was 12, so 1957. The dream turned into a long adventure with the very cute
Russian (named Ivan, of course, I did not know any other Russian names then!). I recall it was so potent
that it affected me for months. Maybe the lure of the dangerous, the forbidden?? An awakening to a larger
world, one without borders? Archtype of the warrior.
